Hey. I've just recently gotten back into magic. I really need to expand my card pool, so a draft sounds like a good concept. The only thing is, I've never done one. I don't know what "Modified Swiss Style" or "8 man pods" mean. Is there a particular site you would recommend I visit? I've been learning some Alara cards, which I figured was important, but I don't know how things work. Could someone help me out? Thanks.

When drafting, players are divided into 8-man groups; these are "pods". "Modified Swiss" simply refers to the seating and scoring system used to run the event.

Ahaha!

This is so complicated sounding...
I just want to play some 1x1,to 3x3 games..
(I'm not a huge fan of Empire games..)

If I want to stay away from tournaments,
Can I still play a few games with anyone who's interested?

I really hope next year we can get a few more judges to come or at least get things rolling on time. My friend and I played in the 2GH tournament and got 3ed. but by the time everything was done i had missed the entire mascaraed and was almost time for the dance to start. I'm looking forward to next year but I just hope times for other events will be taken into account.
