VideoGamesNewYork at Anime Boston 2013

Post by Aurabolt »

It's been confirmed VideoGamesNewYork will be back at AB2013.

EDIT:

Thanks, Faceman =D

I am not affiliated with VideoGamesNewYork so I can't answer any questions pertaining to what they may or may not have in stock. I will PM them and let them know to post here shortly.

In the meantime, feel free to ask away.

Split this to a brand new thread to let the old one die.

Another thing on my 'will buy if available' list. 360 to ps3 converters. Awesome for the not dual modded stick player.

*Sigh*

Hands down VGNY has the largest and most diverse video game collection in the Dealers' Room. None of the other vendors comes close to the amount of imports they bring every year.

The problem is the prices. It's an unrealistic expectation that someone would be willing to buy the US Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver for $50 knowing the retail price is $30 and ALL of their fellow vendors are selling the same game for $25. $220 for a Super Famicom or Japanese Gamecube is overzealous given you can buy one online for $60 at the most.

If they ever wondered why more people don't buy from them, this is why. Most attendees go into the Dealers' Room looking for a deal on retro games. I will NEVER EVER buy from VGNY as long as they continue to sell games at those prices. I got a Game Boy Advance SP and 2 GBA Games (All US) yesterday for $32 at Level Up Gaming in the Dealers' Room. That would have cost me $130 at VGNY. If anything, they're an example to new vendors of how to ensure few people buy from you.

Most of the other vendors make back what they paid for a booth on the first day plus interest. VGNY would have alot less to carry back if they just brought the prices down.

It's probably too soon to tell though last year they didn't announce they were coming to AB2013.

I did.

Not sure what's going on with those guys but the prices are the reason I will NEVER buy from them.
