We have changed our policy this year in hopes to streamline the process!
For free events that have a limited number of seats, you’ll need to pick up a Queued Event Pass to be guaranteed a seat. Attendees with a Queued Event Pass will be seated first. Once they’ve been seated, anyone without a pass will be seated.
Only one Queued Event Pass per person, per event, and each person must be present with their own badge to pick it up. Queued Event Passes will only be available on the day of their event.
The Queued Event Pass Table is located on the third floor of the Hynes across from room 308 on Friday and Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Examples of events that would require a QEP are the Masquerade and concerts.
For more information please review our Special Seating Policy.

Re: Introducing Our Queued Event Pass Policy
So, get Masquerade 'ticket' there on the Saturday morning, not by Con Ops & Security on first floor. Got it.

Re: Introducing Our Queued Event Pass Policy
How do you define a "free event that has a limited number of seats"? That could be taken to mean any panel or game show. Will Queued Event Passes be available for every event at Anime Boston, including panels? What about events where people leave and come back, like the AMV contest or anime viewings?

I assume the con will announce which events offer passes in advance.Kitki wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2019 3:14 pm How do you define a "free event that has a limited number of seats"? Right now, I'm guessing that all of the traditionally "big" events, like the Masquerade, will offer them.

Re: Introducing Our Queued Event Pass Policy
I've added a line to add clarification on that announcement.
To clarify further though, this is still the same policy as we've had in previous years but now with a name so that we can become more consistent.
Semi-relevant side note -
Tickets denote an event that requires a purchase such as the Charity Formal Ball ($5 ticket to enter)
Pass is limited but given out for free such as the masquerade passes, autograph passes and concert passes.

Are the screenings included in this?

Re: Introducing Our Queued Event Pass Policy
depends on the screening. It will be noted as such when announced or if it is deemed necessary closer to con so please keep a watch on our social media accounts/website/forums!
