What's the difference between registering online and registering at a location like Comicopia? Is it the same thing, or are the options just for convenience?

Sorry if this is an obvious question, I'm a bit new to Anime Boston!

Formal dance tickets will go on sale later as we near the convention - check the home page for updates as the convention draws nearer!

There is no difference really - it's just meant to drum up a little more interest in the convention! If you do register at an onsite registration table, however, save your receipt just in case!

Your registration is for all three days. Single day passes will only be available at the door on the valid day so they won't be sold online. Pre-registering will get a badge good for the entire weekend.

WHY are single day passes not available online? Note: because they're not, one of my friends won't be coming to AB. He'll be at PAX East the whole weekend instead. He was going to get a Saturday pass for AB, but he does NOT want to waste 2+ hours of Saturday waiting in line for a badge.

Is there an approximate price for the dance tickets? I am asking for my school group who is planning to go to AB.

Crud. I did not know this....this will complicate things then. Is there a logistical reason they do this?

By pre-registering for a weekend pass now, you save $15 off the price it would be at the door. The price now for the whole weekend is only $10 more than the price you would pay for a one day pass at the door for Friday or Saturday. By pre-registeirng, you are also able to use our cool attendee line which has wait times that are from 0-20 minutes during that day of the convention, or you can attain your badge on Thursday and wait in no line at all on Friday.

We do not offer the one day passes for pre-registering due to low demand. We would not offer such steep discounts as the weekend pass. People may think that they can only make it for two days and purchase two separate one day passes that would cost more than one weekend pass.

We just want to provide the best deal possible with the least confusion possible.

Is it worth an extra 10 dollars for a weekend pass to avoid the 1-2 hours waiting in line for the 0 minute wait on Saturday? Plus if your friend makes it down that night before we close registration, they would pay more time and money in the end for getting a badge for that night and the next day, as we do not allow attendees to purchase a one day pass for the following day.

I guess I'll just have to ask her what she thinks :/ She is considering not going at all anyway because she found out my friend and I are going to try to get a hotel room and she can't afford that and is too afraid to commute in by herself -_-

Can I pre-register for this year still? Is it better to register online or at the door? Are there any differences in the cost?

Yes, you can still register for Anime Boston 2012. You can do that through our Registration page.

If you pre-register online, you have a chance to pick up your badge on Thursday, as opposed to paying at the door on Friday or Saturday. Pre-registering online is always cheaper than at the door. In addition, waiting in the pre-registration line to pick up your badge is generally quicker than at-door registration.

Quick question, apparently the online registration closed. It's not supposed to for another 24 hours. It says it closes on "March 30, 2012 11:59 PM" It's March 30, 2012 12:13 AM. So what's up with that?
