Foundations of Anime is a new initiative by Anime Boston based on the Sheraton’s 5th floor. We have curated unique, intellectual and engaging programming from local professors, academics and experts to bring together a high caliber collection of panels and presentations. In addition to our panel offerings, we are presenting a unique collection of classic anime.
To reach the Foundations of Anime programming track, take the Sheraton Elevators to the 5th floor.

it's basically a set of panels that help those who want to know more about anime (novices like myself) get a better understanding of it. Like any art medium, anime does not operate in a vacuum and is affected by both real-world events and preceding works. The presentation I went to on Central Park Media discussed the company and what series (manga, anime, etc.) it made. The presenter was even in costume as MD Geist, the company's official spokesmecha, to liven thing up a bit. The presentation also noted references to prior anime. For example, it was explained how a clip from Project A-Ko was a parody of Fist of the North Star.
