AMV Schedule Fun Times

Here's a summery of all the AMV stuff that seems to be going on both on and off the schedule:

Fun/Upbeat Overflow @ Video 311 - 2:00PM to 4:00PM

UNSURE
Editor's choice voting - It's usually right after the 2nd contest screening, but we have 15 minutes to do about 30 minutes of set-up for EIE and at least 5 of the finalists are involved in that so... maybe it could change? Unless everyone wants to just proxy vote...
Hentai Music Video Contest - It's not on the schedule.

Thanks for this, hopefully the AMV contest on Saturday sticks to 10 a.m so I can get my badge and get to the contest!

It's sort of rough that the contest and IE are back-to-back. I could see contest audience members being interested in attending Iron Editor, but only 15 minutes between the two and the decision to spend most of the day Saturday exclusively at AMV stuff (nevermind then turn around and get in line for the masquerade) is probably going to be hard for some folks. Any chance of posting something outside the IE door like "Come back at 3:45 p.m. for the grand finale when the contestants reveal their videos!"

I think too much. I'm also rather organized. And I'm in marketing. :|

The journey is the fun bit - the result is just a bonus. There are other plans afoot regarding the videos themselves though...

Maybe after the Friday night one this year?

I was hoping so. The only rub is that Adam sent out the email telling everyone it was going to be Saturday already. If another email could go out to change that, then that's an answer... Other than that, I guess a sizable portion of the votes will be proxy votes and there will be very little conversation.

Not to go overboard and assume everyone's going to want to come to EIE, but any editors that want to come in early to get seats will be allowed to. I can't say for sure we won't fill up.

I sent the email out with the date and time because that's when we traditionally do it, and also because I was asked to make sure that info was included with the finalist notifications.

I'm kinda loathe to change it at this point. But if the greater consensus is to change it, then I'll see about sending out an email.

The only way you're going to get anything resembling a consensus is to send out an email asking. The lack of forum activity here this year is evidence enough of that.

Or, you know. Ask at the editor's dinner, where pretty much everyone will be. >.>

Except the people that are only coming Saturday, who would be the only ones that would really care if a decision was made right now. I kinda assumed this whole conundrum was for the sake of this group of people (which may or may not exist)

If we're just looking for the finalist editors to weigh in, I'm fine with doing it after the showing on Friday.
Anime Boston 2011: Angel Stocking (Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt), Fuko (Clannad)
Anime Boston 2012: Naoto Shirogane (Persona 4)
Anime Boston 2013: Tamako Kitashirakawa (Tamako Market), maybe Marceline (Adventure Time)
Do I bleed awesome? No. Awesome bleeds me.

So last year we discussed videos then voted to get a top 5 candidates for editors choice, and after that voted again for the actual winner (which I thought was a good process). So could we narrow it down to the top 5 on Friday night, and then people who are there on Friday can vote for the actual winner then, and people who missed it can vote on Saturday?

Maybe I'll actually come to that this year since I know when it is. I'd actually prefer Friday night since the Avatar cosplay meetup is at 1:00 on Saturday.
