Anime Boston Lip Sync Battle 2019

Post by Demarion » Mon Nov 26, 2018 11:23 pm

Hello everyone! Here we go for our 3rd year running such an amazing event!

Being that it is our 3rd year, we have some upgrades in room and extended time! Unlike last year, the time will not overlap Masquerade, but is set for an earlier time Saturday.

For those who are not familiar with Lip Sync Battle: think of it like... Ru'Paul's "Lip Sync For Your Life", but in a bracket system format. Sixteen contestants or duos (I'll get back to this in a moment) will compete in 1v1 Lip Sync performances until there is only one left on top to win it all!

What do you need to know about applying? There are a few things to keep in mind.
  • Apply with a picture of you in the cosplay.
  • Pick out 4 songs you feel fits best with all characters you apply with.
  • We are going to try duets this year.
  • Practicing crazy dance moves before you hit the stage!
  • Lastly, have fun!
When applying as a duet, both individuals need to apply separately, but state they are a group with said other person.

With this all in mind and setting the stage for a whole new year, Let's make this one of our best yet! Applications open Jan. 1, 2019

Also.....

I suggest checking out the Anime Boston Cosplay FAQ here =====> http://www.animeboston.com/cosplay/cosplay_faq/
Use the Cosplay HQ page on the Anime Boston website to apply to Cosplay Games here =====> http://www.animeboston.com/cosplayhq/

 A reminder: Anime Boston is an anime convention that is part of the New England Anime Society (NEAS). As such, a severe lean is given to those who are from Japanese origin. There may be one or two exception given if a unique opportunity is presented, but 99% of all pieces chosen will be of eastern origin.

Keep rocking on and looking forward to seeing you there! :D

If our cosplay isn't finished yet, can we send a progress photo or reference image instead?

Another question lol, how will songs be cropped? Will we know the length of cropped songs or what they sound like prior to the contest?

Our tech team will pre-cut the songs to the appropriate length by trimming from the beginning and end. In other words: we'll take 1 continous cut from the song. This is to ensure consistent audio quality at the event.

We will share the cuts with participants before the event so you know what to practice.
