2018 Cosplay Games Host Pool

Post by sohopefully » Fri Jan 05, 2018 9:02 am

Do you like to be on stage? Have you been in Cosplay Games? When in cosplay, do you become your character? Are you good at keeping things moving along and on time? Want to have a bigger role to play in one of the Cosplay Games events? Then we certainly have a job for you! Back for the second year, applications are now open for the 2018 Cosplay Games Host Pool!

This is the only way to become a host for any one of our amazing events! Hosts are the people who connect with the crowd, help wrangle our contestants on stage, and keep things moving. We're looking for enthusiastic individuals who know how to charm and entertain. Improv is an essential skill, and in most of our games it is important to be able to keep it PG (except for AfterDark Dating Game, which is filthy).

As for what our coordinators are looking for, it varies by game. Generally, preference will be given to those cosplayers who have participated in our games in the past, especially those who have repeatedly been in dialogue heavy games (AfterDark Dating Game, Dating Game, Match Game, Couple's Game, Family Feud) or Cosplot, and those with outside Emcee and stage/theater/improv experience. Also, if you're looking to become a host in the future, we highly recommend attending our Cosplay Games 201 Panel, "Upping Your Cosplay Games Game" (date/time TBD).

YOU MAY APPLY WITH OR WITHOUT A COSPLAY TO BE A HOST. Please note that we can only accept cosplays from Japanese sources, such as anime, manga, video games, or other media. If you would like to host as yourself, however, arrangements can be made. Please indicate this in your application by making a host personality cosplay profile. (Anyone remember Jeff the Host? Yeah, like him.)

You may apply as a group to host. Groups make fabulous hosts! It means more people to think quickly in the event that something "interesting" happens. Please make sure that this is no more than 3 people.

We are looking for hosts for six of our seven games, and this is the one-stop shop to volunteer! You can apply for one, several, or all of the following (Sorry, Cosplay Shenanigans is all set with Jeff and Lucky!): 1) Death Match 2) Match Game 3) AfterDark Dating Game (18+ only) 4) Lip Sync Battle 5) Are You Smater Than A Cosplayer? 6) Chess

Thank you for your great applications to all of the Cosplay Games Events. Be sure to stop by Cosplay HQ, say hi, and meet our staff regardless of whether you get into the games, and check our our events at con. Looking forward to seeing you all at Anime Boston 2018!

Yup! Submitting an application to the host pool is exactly the same process as applying to our other events!
