The Chibi Project - LIVE!

Post by PatrickD »

[bigger]The Chibi Project - LIVE![/bigger]

For the fifth year in a row, Anime Boston will be hosting The Chibi Project - LIVE!

You've seen us soak Chibi Moon in juice, cut Pikachu in half with a circular saw, kick off the "Will it blend?" phenomenon by putting Megaman in a blender, and saw the world premiere of our experiments on sailor scouts with a fresnel lens and a potato cannon.

What will you see at Anime Boston 2007? We're not telling, but you can rely on the insane scientists behind The Chibi Project to entertain you with the same fascinating experiments they have been conducting since 1999. We're not saying we were the inspiration for Mythbusters and Brainiac...but we were breaking things first. :)

The Chibi Project's panel at Anime Boston 2007 will be filmed live to tape and be posted as an episode of The Chibi Project Podcast. If you haven't seen the podcast yet, check it out today! (You don't need an iPod to watch it.)

Come and meet the newest members of our team, re-live some of our previous experiments, be the first to see a brand new experiment, and be a part of the podcast!

that actually pretty creepy depending on what half you kept. Since I know a lot of stuffing was thrown out to the crowd, i can just imagine the disembodied head of pikachu, empty of all stuffing hanging from a ceiling. Might make a nice Halloween prop.

GTFO.

I will flood the Hynes with my tears if my panel is against the Chibi Project. :(

Pat - I still have some pikachu fluff from AB04. I put it in a beanie baby box.

That scares me.

FYI: The video recap of previous tests at the beginning of the panel will be much shorter this year. As we've done more and more tests, that has gotten longer and longer. This year it will be severely edited down so that newer stuff can get more attention.

If you want to see the full length presentations for the older experiments, subscribe to the podcast. Not all the experiments are there yet, but there's a few more episodes coming very soon.

I swear, if the Gods smile upon me, and I'm able to leave Masq. HQ for a little while, I *WILL* come to this panel!

(Although I highly doubt that I will get to shoot anything in the Hynes...) :D

O_O

what did Megaman ever do to you?? haha... if I learned anything from the internet, it's this:
- cellphones: blend
- marbles: blend
- scissors: do NOT blend and will try to escape their confines and attempt to enact physical harm on their torturers

^____________^

not sure if I'll get a chance to see the panel live, but I'll def be looking for the podcast

Did you find it? Episode 4 was posted late last week.

Episode 5 will be posted next Friday.

Episode 6 will be recorded at Anime Boston. (The panel is currently scheduled for 5pm on Friday, April 20th.)

What will likely become Episode 7 has been delayed due to scheduling issues, but we'll be talking about it at the con. It's going to be huge. :)

This is one thing I want to see. I want to see an Asuka destroyed and I am an Evangelion fanboy. One of the reasons I am traveling to Anime Boston is to see this panel. If I am off at that time, I will be there.

I actually found out about the Chibi Project fairly recently and I think it's absolutely hilarious. I've always wanted to check out this panel.

I think in 2008 I may need to request 90 minutes. Even after seriously cutting down the recap footage by at least half, there's still a ton of stuff to cover and it really ate into Q&A time.

I would start leaving out the recap, but each year there are new folks who have never seen it before who need to be brought up to speed. (Go watch the podcast, people!) http://podcast.chibiproject.com/

Maybe in 2008 I'll actually make it to the panel as planned instead of running in halfway through or not at all...

I just wanted to let people know that the podcast episode recorded at the convention was posted last month. (Yeah, it took a while...) You can find it in the iTunes Store (for free) by searching for "Chibi Project".

There are links to it at http://podcast.chibiproject.com/

Yeah, definitly coming.
So did you guys ever get around to doing that experiment with ninja headbands? Either way, I cant wait to see what live [strike]form of torture to innocent anime characters[/strike] demonstration you'll be performing this year.

Just to be clear, this thread was announcing the AB2007 panel, not one at AB2008. (...although it is sure to return.)
