Are instruments allowed?

For my Momo Sakaki cosplay, I was planning on bringing an acoustic guitar to the convention. I read the FAQ about props, but I was still uncertain about whether or not something like that would be allowed. I haven't really seen any instruments from cons in the past, so I was hoping someone could help me out?

I'm fairly certain they are, as long as you're not too loud with them, and not drawing crowds in busy areas with your performance.

Not staff!

I have seen both violins and acoustic guitars at AB in years past, however, the Hynes convention center decides what gets in and what doesn't, and no props can be guaranteed entrance prior to inspection. I would just have somewhere to store it just in case the Hynes won't allow them in this year.

In the past, I have seen melodicas, violins, acoustic guitars, flutes/picollos, trumpets, maracas, and ocarinas inside the Hynes. Inside the Pru, I have seen saxaphones as well as the others listed above. I say use discretion on whether you are going to be using it as a prop or whether you are actually going to perform.

In the past people who stay in one place playing too long will be asked by Hynes staff, not AB staff, to move on. If you going to play music keep moving. You will see people walking while playing. The issues is people who stop to listen create a log jam in the traffic flow.
