Question regarding footwear

This Anime Boston, I planned to cosplay as Luka Urushibara from Steins;Gate. My only question is that, as seen here, he wears.... what I assume to be sandals? I'm not too clear on what they're exactly called myself but, I just wanted to double-check that they're appropriate for the con before I start buying or planning for materials.

DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A STAFF MEMBER.

Sandals are allowed anywhere my friend. I mean...unless you work in construction, a lab, or something like that...

The Hynes/Pru/Sheraton are sandal friendly. I wore a very similar sandal for my Kikyo cosplay from Inuyasha.

As long as you have on footwear that does not have wheels, you should be good!

If you're asking whether they'd be comfortable or not, well, that's just personal opinion.

Sandals are perfectly acceptable for the convention center. Just remember we're in late March, early April - it may be cold or raining outside.

Duly noted, I'll make sure to bring extra socks just in case then.

Those type of sandals are called "Geta" I believe. There were vendors at AB that sold them, along with fans, kimonos/yukatas. But yeah, I've never worn Geta myself. I'm planning on buying a pair someday for a Splatoon cosplay. I don't know how comfortable they are. But the more a Geta looks like a regular sandal or flip flop, the better possibility they'll be easy to walk in.
