hey everybody if you plan on reserving a hotel for anime boston 2011 at the sheraton then reserve your room now. you can call them at 1-617-236-2000 press zero and ask for reservations. I payed mine of today. the cost per night is 227.00 give or take a few cents. and to all the staff out there i did check with the hotel staff including the manager and the rooms are in fact able to be reserved for anime boston2011 so i have checked all the facts before reserving the room and making this post.

While we appreciate you wanting to book your room early, please keep in mind that even though you booked over the phone you will still be held accountable by all rules put forth by the Sheraton including the Code of Conduct and the minimum age required to check in.
We will have information about the room blocks up on our website as soon as possible. We are trying to renegotiate certain aspects of our agreement with the Sheraton still.

If I had to guess, the aspects in which the con doesn't have to pay quite as much in penalties when the Hilton undercuts the Sheraton and the Marriot and economic congoers go there in droves, leaving the con block underbooked.
Totally just a guess though.

Nope... I'm still seeing 179/night plus tax at the Marriott. That calculates to just under $205.

No, you were replying to me (check your reply line at the top of your post). Now look at that post where I was quoting you - the one you replied to by clicking "reply".
It says:

Which was an answer to unknown of "how much it costs at the marriot"(sic).
I know this isn't a standard PHPBB forum model, but keep at it and you'll get a hang of how the "reply" button on each post works to clarify who it is you're responding to in different situations. If it helps, use the "quote post" button to the left of "reply" instead.

I hope they change the "21 rule" to check in, a ton of my fellow con goers didn't book at the sheraton just because of that fact and i heard AB got yelled at because the rooms weren't fully booked even though its the sheratons fault -_-.

I am also interested in what type of negotiations you are working on with the Sheraton because I am hoping it involves the price of rooms. I see some people have posted that their Sheraton room costed around $200-250, but when I asked about room prices today the lowest I got for one room with two double beds was $353.65 (tax included) a night and if I stay Thursday through Sunday like I always do the total will be $1,060.95 which is absolutely crazy! I couldn't make it to Anime Boston this year, but last year I went and when I stayed at the same hotel for the same amount of time it only came to around $650-700!

well I reserved my room and most recently I reserved one for my cousin and I can assure you that the room price did not go up and the price is about 227.00 and some change per night. I reserved one for thursday thru sunday and make sure when you ask to book a room that you tell them that it is under the anime boston 2011 group rate.

Masterchief, stop answering hotel questions. As displayed above you are getting facts wrong, and it's really important these types of questions are answered by staffers in the operations division. We do not like attendees answering questions directed at staff. You have been warned.
As it stands, 2011 Hotel information has not been released yet, when it is, there will be an announcement on the main page.

will there be the same discounts as last year and the same 'social block', 'quiet block' options for pre-payers?

I don't understand what's going on, I understand that hotel information and discounts have not yet been released, however when going to the Sheraton Boston Hotel website and putting in the correct dates the charges are outrageous, one night including tax is [color:red]$307.00! This would mean it would be over [color:red]$600.00 for a two nights stay! Can anyone please confirm that this is not the correct price? If so many of us will not be able to afford to go this year...

i know from talking with hotel staff. this mabye the key in your case but the hotel staff told me that the rates online are different then the rates if you call them. so that might be why you are geting such a high price online. i suggest calling the hotel directly. they would know more. i would not want to tell you something and then mislead you so ask they hotel directly. there number is 617-236-2000. they are the ones you should be asking not the people on the forums because they might givve you false information. the hotel would know.

Not for nothing, but the fact that there hasn't been an announcement about the hotel space for this year should tell you that they haven't actually finished negotiations with the hotel. Telling people to call up the Sheraton to ask for an unpublished deal isn't helping matters. If anything it's going to make re-negotiations more difficult.
Now, I know I've done my share of sh*t-starting on these forums in the past but you seem to be actively trying to f*ck this whole thing over and that's just not cool.

I may be new, so excuse me, but that was really un-called for. I know the negotiations are still going on I'm not stupid, I read the entire forum topic and what everyone posted. But no offense if the prices online for the Sheraton are accurate, at $307.00 a night even after the deal that the convention would get us it still wouldn't be much of a deal, I mean there's only so much they can come down on the price. And looking back on MasterChief's posts yeah there were a couple of times where he was out of line, but what he just said by referring me straight to the hotel to find out if those online prices were accurate was the professional thing to do. I have no interest in finding out about the negotiations nor slowing them down. I just want to know if the prices online on their website are accurate. And not for nothing but some of us don't have time to sit here twiddling our thumbs waiting to find out. I for one will find out on my own.

And if you had read the thread, you'd see that Eilonnwy had already told master chief to stop giving out information on hotels that is turning out to be false. So, wait until there is an official announcement. Since there hasn't been one, then the price of hotels for AB 2011 obviously has not be set in stone yet.

CURRENTLY THERE IS NO CONVENTION RATE AS ANIME BOSTON STAFF ARE STILL NEGOTIATING WITH THE SHERATON.
The hotel is NOT GOING TO GIVE YOU THE CONVENTION RATE if you call them because A DISCOUNTED RATE HAS NOT BEEN SET.
An announcement will be made when official Anime Boston pricing is available.
Master Chief - If you continue to supply unofficial information after being asked not to, moderators will be forced to take action against you. Please stop.

All you will be finding out is the current rate of the hotel on that weekend. Because discounted pricing has not been set there will be no information they can provide you.

What part of "stop answering questions meant for AB staff" was unclear? This is your final warning. Do it again and you will be banned.
Also, thread locked. If you have hotel questions, please use the contact form. However, the best thing you can do is wait for our Operations director to finish contract negotiations, and believe me, as soon as all the info is ready it will be posted online. Please have patience, we're trying to work out the best deal for you all.
