Suitcase/bag rules
Because I'm going to be changing cosplays midday, I'll be needing to carry my costume in a backpack or suitcase. Will there be a check section where staff inspect my contents, and if so, will it be something that happens every time? I know in these times you cannot be too careful with people bringing large bags, but I don't want to come off as suspicious or not be allowed in because of it. Thanks.

Re: Suitcase/bag rules
I can only speak for my past experiences with AB. There has been a Boston police mandated & staffed Bag Check at all entrances to the convention center for several years now. It occurs every time you enter & is complete with metal detectors, wands & hand searches of the bag.
I suspect that will continue forever due to the marathon bombing years back. But, that is also subject to change at any time by the Police. I would proceed expecting it to remain in place this year. Especially for a holiday weekend with a large public gathering occurring.

Add on top last couple years they have had a bag check room for a couple bucks, think it was $2 a bag in the past, where you can put your case for the day so you don' have to keep bringing through security. Not overnight but just for the day.

Re: Suitcase/bag rules
Hi there! All entry points into the Hynes have a Security Checkpoint. Hynes Public Safety uses what is better described as a gate to walk through instead of the hand held wands (akin to airport checks). Public Safety may still use the wand in addition to the gate and they reserve the right to check any bag/suitcase as you come in, each time you come in. There is a Coat/Bag check in Hynes room 107, rates per item have yet to be determined.Shimeki wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 11:07 am Because I'm going to be changing cosplays midday, I'll be needing to carry my costume in a backpack or suitcase.
