I’m planning a trip to China soon and I’m a huge anime fan (obviously, since I'm here). I know Japan is the anime hub, but I’ve heard there’s a growing anime culture in China too. Does anyone know of any cool anime stores, themed cafes, or even anime conventions happening there? I’ll be spending time in cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and maybe Chengdu, so any suggestions around those areas would be awesome!
Also, if there are any unique spots for Chinese animation or pop culture, I’d love to hear about those too. Thanks in advance!

Re: Any Anime Spots to Check Out in China? Hey everyone,
You might like to visit Wukesong area for interesting anime shops and cafes. In Shanghai, there is famous place called Shanghai Anime Center with special themed cafes too. Chengdu also has some secret good places such as Ani-Cafe. For Chinese animation, you should definitely check out the amazing creations from Light Chaser Animation studio they have very impressive pieces. Do you plan to go by yourself?

Re: Any Anime Spots to Check Out in China? Hey everyone,
In Shanghai, you can check out the JFilm anime & comic store near People's Square. They have a huge selection of imports. There's also an otaku cafe called Pika Pika near Xujiahui that does Japanese-style food and decor. In Beijing, 3S Art Gallery often has anime/manga exhibits. And though not directly related to anime, check out the 798 Art District for modern Chinese pop culture influences in art.

Thanks for the tips! JFilm in Shanghai and Pika Pika sound perfect. I’d definitely check out 3S Art Gallery in Beijing too. And 798 Art District is a must-see for sure. Are there any tours that cover these spots, or should I explore them on my own?

If you're not sure about it, getting a guide ain't a bad idea. I will try looking into one.

That sounds awesome! I’d love to check out those anime spots, especially the Shanghai Anime Center. I haven’t made concrete plans yet, but exploring those places solo does sound pretty fun.
