Local brews?

If you're new to the city or taking the T in from out of town, this is where you can get advice from people living in The Hub. Please keep discussion limited to things in and around Boston.

Local brews?

Any bars close by with good microbrews? And please no Sam Adams, I've had it, it's good for American beer, but I am looking for something more European in flavor, maybe a heffeweisen or wheat beer. Thanks.

Bukowski's is the favored watering hole that's close to the convention area. Google Map for Bukowski's

There's a couple other spots I've heard of. Possibly the Pour House too.

Not really in the same area as the con, but if you're going to be in town earlier/later in the week, might be worth checking out for you:

Not sure what they've got as far as ales, but afaik all their stuff is pretty good.

My choices are:

Sunset Bar and Grill - Short T Ride away in Allston/Brighton. Cheap good food too.

Publick House - Best selection of Belgian Beers around. Also, great Mac and Cheese and other yummy foods.

There is a line of bars literally across the street from the Convention Center. Whether the brews there are good or not depends on your preference.
