Boston thinking about charging people that drive in the city.

If you're new to the city or taking the T in from out of town, this is where you can get advice from people living in The Hub. Please keep discussion limited to things in and around Boston.

Boston thinking about charging people that drive in the city.

Boston looking into charging a toll for drivers in certain parts of the city. I'm sure backbay would be one such area. https://www.boston25news.com/news/loc ... UHYZ4Q/

I feel like tolls would just bog things down even more? Not to mention the city seems to be ignoring the issues the MBTA is having with their trains catching on fire....

It wouldn't nessisarily cause any traffic problems. Camera & sensor tolling has been a thing for decades now.

Mmmmm, fair. Still think that money should go to public transit though, instead of cameras/sensors.

It could be a step towards reducing congestion and improving air quality, tunnel rush but it might also affect lower-income residents who rely on driving.

I'm hesitant to charge an additional price. We used to travel freely, but now it will cost much more for frequent travelers.
