Karaoke Contest Lineup

Hey Everyone,

I want to thank everyone for submitting stuff and I have to say some were hard choices that unfortunately had to be made. If you didn't make it as a finalist, I highly encourage those who submitted to still sing for open mic.

This isn't the singing order, just the order I had you guys listed. The singing order will be arranged randomly to be fair. The beginning of the contest is reserved for returning winners from last year. I will be sending you all an email shortly asking for karaoke versions of songs. If there is a special version of the song, please tell me at that time.

There is also a little change in judging this year also. Ballots will be handed out to the crowd for judging. They will be counted and the winners will be decided that way. This means your fate lies with the masses rather than a select few people.. kind of like that other singing show that is so popular these days, but with my own twist.

Any questions, you guys know my email, so send an email. Now I can go to sleep. Don't know if it is the turkey from yesterday or I am sick..

Just curious, but do we know what time on Friday the contest will take place yet? I'm going out with some friends for my birthday and am hoping to be able to finalize my plans at least a few days before the con!

Also, congrats to everyone else who made the cut

I'll have to remember a few finalists have birthdays.. lol

Tentatively the karaoke contest will run from 7-9pm on Friday.

That brings up a question- do we have to stay for the whole contest after we sing?

mmh, speaking of the ball...I'll probably be in my costume and ready for it before the contest XD

imagine that...Summoner Yuna singing Give A Reason from Slayers XD

or I could dress as Songstress Yuna and find some time to change after the contest...

Oh WOW Mike this looks so awesome. I have to tell you this has made my morning. Bad week at school ^_^; the closer I get the more rediculous college gets lol

I looked through the list and I am so excited. So many people are gonna be performing...OHHH MAN I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE ALL THAT TALENT PERFORMING!

I was curious, are Goki and myself the only two returning winners? Ohh wait til folks see what we have planned this year AB here we come

Costumes are optional, but that is not to say they will not help with your score. I doubt if any costume would be a debtriment. I myself will be wearing a costume for the contest.. or maybe for Iron Karaoke on Saturday.. can't decide.

As far as leaving. I would prefer not unless you have a good reason. Not because you need to be there, but more of a morale boost and encouragement of your fellow competitors. If you guys really want to leave, I can't corale you guys to stay. It is your call.

Well...it's only an hour...I guess I should stay, then go to the ball right after. (Maybe that means I'll be wearing my ballgown in the contest >_< )

Aww, really? The Cherry Blossom Ball is right after the Karaoke Contest? o.o Looks like I might join you in wearing an gown on stage... XD

Are we allowed to sing a different song than the audition song for the contest?

Oh geez. I didn't actually think I'd get in XD... I just might die haha... My friends gonna make fun of me for being in a Suigintou outfit while singing 1000 no Kotoba XD.

Yup. Definately gonna die lol. At least it'll be fun !

Tell me about it, Nurilka. My ex is filming me. She's all like "YAY you're singing and it's soooo cool! I'm brining a camcorder!" and I'm all "...bugger."

-_-;; Should be fun though.

And I'm definitely in there with all of you about the whole karaoke-contest-ball thing. I don't want to wear my ball dress to the competition, though--I'll probably just sing, wait for the judging, congratulate the winners, then RUN up to my room, change, and run back to the ball. ^^ With all the running I'm going to be doing at this con, I won't be surprised if I drop weight.

Anime Boston--easier than Weight Watchers.

Will the mics be wireless at the convention again?

And will we have mic stands?

Ok, cause last year worked so well. If it is not, can I bring my own mic?

Only thing that would have made it cooler last year was if we had mic stands.
