So... I know LARP is Live Action Role Playing, but how does one do that? I've always been interested in doing one, but I don't know anyone that knows.

It really depends on who you ask. There are many different LARP systems - one of the biggest factors is probably PvP vs. PvE. My brother is regularly part of a particular LARP, I forget what the name was. Anyhow, it's primarily PvE, generally consisting of you and a party doing various quests. It's also action-based, and leans heavily on the honor system. For special abilities, you'd yell them out while doing an attack, and for magic, you have beanbags to throw, determining whether or not the spell hits.
That's just one system, and since I haven't played with it myself, I don't know a lot about it...There's a lot of variation here. Look up some LARPs, and you can get specifics about how they do things, maybe get a more general feel for how LARPing works.

This looks like a good place to research, but I think it'd honestly be more fun to plunge in.

That's Boffer LARP, I believe most LARPs at AB are BESM.

Anyways, since this is *not* related to the con (IE: not about running a larp, what larps will be there, etc...) I'm locking this, since there are many sites and forums on the internet dedicated to LARPing
