Sorry this took so long. We had some flake-outs at the last minute. Plus, the whole "We accidentally double-booked the Live Gaming area for Friday afternoon and evening" thing DID NOT HELP!!

LIVE GAMING PROGRAM GUIDE


Special Events


Beggar's Canyon Pod Race (Future Race system)
- Fast and furious tabletop action using MicroMachines Pod Racers on 3D terrain of Tatooine. Ram your opponents, jump the ramps, but umm, don't misjudge you're turns and smash into a cliff at hundreds of kilometers per hour! Whenever there's room at the table and 4 more players who want to join, another heat can be added to the race in progress. Max of 10 players! Sat. noon-4pm, 6pm-10pm


Casino Blackjack – No cash value. Purely for entertainment. Sat. 7pm-11pm, Sun. noon-4pm.


Encore - Come play the singing board game, where knowing Lyrics trumps singing ability. Sun. noon-3pm.


Queen's Blade Demo - The combat picture book game that inspired the anime, featuring an eclectic roster of lovely female warriors duking it out to see who's fit to be queen. Based on the Lost Worlds system, battles are quick, dirty, and a lot of fun! Sat. 9pm-11pm


Board Games



Arkham Horror Board Game Demo - In this cross between a role-playing game and a cooperative board game, gates between worlds have begun to open in the 1920s town of Arkham, Massachusetts. Ancient Ones lurk in the emptiness beyond space and time, eager to use these gates to come and devour our world. Sat. noon-3pm.


Learn To Play Go! - Come learn to play Go, the ancient Asian strategy game featured in Hikaru no Go! Sponsered by the Mass. Go Association. Sat. 11am-7pm


Munchkin Zombie Demo - Kill the Living! Eat their Brains! It's the sickest, silliest Munchkin yet! You are zombies, kicking down doors and eating brains. The "monsters" you're attacking are people, some helpless and some hazardous, with a few rogue zombies thrown in. The armor is whatever you've blundered across during your lurching search for brains. So bravely you'll go forth, with mousetraps on your feet and a bowling trophy protecting your poor rotting head to level up, or to die. Again. Sat. noon-2pm


Pandemic Demo - In this collaborative board game you play specialists at the CDC/Atlanta where you watch several virulent diseases break out simultaneously all over the world. The team mission is to prevent a worldwide pandemic outbreak, treating hot spots while researching cures for each of the four plagues before they get out of hand. Sun. noon-4pm


Resident Evil Deck Building Game Demo - In Resident Evil, a deadly virus has caused the dead to rise and infect any living thing they encounter! Fleeing to a mysterious mansion, you must gather any materials you can find to protect yourself and fight for your survival against a legion of infected beings! The Resident Evil DBG brings the story to life in a game of strategy where players construct their card decks while they play. . Players start with only the most basic of items and weapons. As the game progresses, players build their arsenal with additional Weapons, Ammunition, Action or Item cards to customize their deck and improve their ability in defeating the Infected! Sat. 2pm-6pm


Steve Jackson Game Demos - The Steve Jackson Games demo team, the mysterious MIB, are here to show off games. Many SJG titles will be available for play and instruction, including Cthulhu Dice, Zombie Dice, Munchkin, SPANC, and many others. A good time, and maybe some promos, for all! Sat. 2pm-8pm, Sun. noon-4pm.


Ticket to Ride Demo
- With elegantly simple gameplay, Ticket to Ride can be learned in 3 minutes while providing players with intense strategic and tactical decisions every turn. Players collect cards of various types of train cars and use to claim railway routes in North America. The longer the routes, the more points they earn. Additional points come to those who fulfill Destination Tickets – goal cards that connect distant cities; and to the player who builds the longest continuous route. Sat. 10am-2pm


Collectable Card Games


MTG Booster Draft
- $15 Entry. $5/player will be converted to prize support. Events with at least 8 players will be sanctioned, otherwise we'll run a casual draft if players are willing. Start times: Sat. 11am, 1pm, 3pm; Sun. noon.


MTG Sealed Tournament - $25 Entry: Players receive 6 booster packs and have 40 minutes to build a 40 card deck. Prize support is $5/player. Start time is Sun. 11am.


MTG Two-Headed Giant Sealed Deck - $40 Entry: Magic multiplayer format, Teams of 2 players. Each player will receive 8 packs.. Each team will have 60 minutes to build 2 40 card decks. There will be 4x 50:00 minute rounds (3 rounds if 15 teams or less). $10.00 per team ($5.00 per player) will be converted into prize support. Promotional (insert card name here) will be handed out at this event at random and to top placing teams. If you don't have a partner, come anyway and we'll team you up! Start time: Sat. 5pm


Naruto Block Format Constructed Tournaments - $5 Entry - The current Block Format Rogue list is listed at http://www.bandaicg.com/naruto/showthread.php?t=66319. 4-5 round swiss (3 rounds if less then 8 players). These events will be Unsanctioned. Start times: Sat. 2pm, Sun. 11am


Yu-Gi-Oh! Advanced Format Box Tournament - $10 Entry - The current Advanced Format Forbidden List is listed at www.yugioh-card.com. Winner of this tournament will receive 24 packs of the most recent expansion or its equivalent. Prizes will also be awarded to the runner-ups. This will be a swiss tournament, the number of rounds will be determined by the number of participants. This event will be Unsanctioned. Sat. 2pm-5pm


Yu-Gi-Oh! Advanced Format Constructed Flight - $5 Entry - The current Advanced Format Forbidden List is listed at www.yugioh-card.com. Each flight will be 4 Rounds (3 Rounds if less than 8 players) of swiss. These events will be Unsanctioned. Start times: Sat. 11am, 6pm, Sun. 11am


Live Action Role-Playing


LARP (Old World of Darkness) - Work of Noble Note.
The Vampires of Boston are being assailed by forces unknown. Everyone has felt it. Valued retainers have gone missing, influences have waned, herds have disbanded. Someone or something is isolating the vampires. Perhaps for attack? Is it the Gypsies? The Sabbat? The Anarchs or something even more sinister? You must find out before your last ties to the mortal world are severed. This Old World of Darkness game has the potential for violence and mature themes. We will provide pregen characters, and no experience is necessary to play. Sat. 6pm for Q&A and character selection. Game starts at 7pm Saturday night, in Independence West, NOT Constitution.


Role-Playing Games


Burninating the Country Side! (Rules Light D&D 4E) - A volcanic dragon has attacked Fieldmeadow and in an effort to slay the dread beast you've thought it'd be quite epic to slay it right in the town square...so everyone could see your glorious deeds. (That assumes you survive the battle) Unfortunately the town is now burning, and the people are a little hysterical about the damage...you have one choice...take out the witnesses or RUUUUUNNN! Play in a all out fight with a dragon, then a royal rumble with the towns people. Choose the heroes or be a couple of the villains (will accommodate more if necessary). Sat. 3pm-5pm


Dead on Arrival (Call of Cthulhu RPG) - Your day starts off badly when your car breaks down, and then gets much, much worse. 6 player max. Sat. 8pm-10pm


Intrigue (Vampire: The Masquerade RPG)
- In the bleak backdrop of Mill City, the human world endlessly cycles through day and night, oblivious to the supernatural terror lurking beneath the surface. The Prince of Mill City is not a vampire to be trifled with, and indeed, the streets would run red with blood at his word. Be wary, vampire fans: No sparkling allowed! Max number of players is 8. Pregen characters provided. Sat. noon-4pm.


Knight at the Opera (Shadowrun RPG) - When a powerful CEO asks for help, you know the job will be something to remember. Damien Knight needs your help with a disappearing act. Are you up for the challenge? 6 players max. Pregen characters available or players can bring existing SRM characters. Sat. noon-4pm


Learn to Play Noob! (Rules Light D&D 4E) - Interested in learning how to play Dungeons and Dragons? Want to dive into a role playing experience that has a sandbox feel in which you can do almost anything? Join me, Crazy G, as we play together in a story that will be serious, crazy or fun as we explore the world of D&D. Cliche's welcome, memes encouraged and shenanigans mandatory! 4-8 players., Sat. 11am-1pm, Sun. 11am-1pm.


Me & My Shadow Mark IV (Paranoia RPG)
- In this classic adventure, 4-6 players take the role of troubleshooters in the dysfunctional underground utopia of Alpha Complex. Their mission: to guard Alpha Complex's biggest, deadly weapon for a couple hours. It's a simple task that will in no way be sabotaged by hordes of Commies, deadly mutants, or sneaky traitors. Sat. 5pm-9pm.


Naraka: All God's Village (D&D 4E) - Explore a new mysterious world as a bone mystic, demon-bladed samurai, or a dark monk as you try to unravel the mystery of the Yomi island town of All God's Village and what brought you there, while battling goblin spiders, bakemono, and Oni-kin. This is a D&D 4e essentials game set in the custom far east themed world of Naraka. Pregen 3rd level characters available. Sat. 4pm-8pm. Sun. noon-4pm


Not Your Parents' D&D! (D&D 3.5E) - Are you sick of grindfests, or fetch quests lacking any attempt at a plot more deep than 'Swoosh, I leveled up!'? Then grab your dice (or don't, we have them) and dive into a dynamic Orwellian dystopic scenario. You will encounter a new world with deep characters, moral choices and plenty of chances to roleplay in the best of ways. WoW enthusiasts might have their minds blown. No Jerks, please. Amateurs welcome, we'd prefer 4-8 players.. Pregen characters will be available. Sat. noon-4pm


Saviors of a Dying Age (BESM RPG) - The UN Force team is still reeling from last year's betrayal. Now, Moonspine, their former demon ally, has joined forces with enemies old and new. The team must shut down the re-awakening alien beacon and avenge the death of their former comrade. Pregen characters will be provided. Sun. noon-4pm


Security Theatre 3000 (Paranoia RPG) - In this adventure, 4-6 players take the role of troubleshooters in the dysfunctional underground utopia of Alpha Complex. Their mission: test the defenses of the new Alpha Complex Travel Hub. By smuggling in a bomb. What could go wrong (besides Commie mutant traitors, Kafkaesque help desks, & Total Security Measures)? Sun. noon-4pm.


Shades of Gray (A Dirty World RPG)
- It's 1953 and a senator is dead. Your job is to find out who did it, to keep anyone else from finding out, and to make a killing yourself. 5-6 players for a grim game with no easy answers. RP-Heavy. Classic Noir setting, pregen characters available. Sat. 11am-3pm


Something Completely Different (Shadowrun RPG) - "You're locked in a tiny room, you're dressed nicely, and some of your stuff is missing. But hey, at least there's a bunch of other strangers in here with you, right? 6 players max. Pregen characters available or players can bring existing SRM characters. Sat. 6pm-10pm


Spin Control (Shadowrun RPG)
- Sometimes the media needs a little help uncovering the truth, when it involves investigating the lawless zones of the city that's where you come in... 6 players max. Pregen characters available or players can bring existing SRM characters. Sun. 11am-3pm


The Dalish Curse (Dragon Age RPG) - A good-aligned campaign where players must save a town called Vintiver. This is an introduction to the Dragon Age RPG. No prior experience necessary. Pregen characters will be provided. Max 6 players. Sat. 7pm-11pm


Wargames


Black Reach (Warhammer 40K) - Fight for the Emperor as the stalwart Space Marines, or revel in the furor of combat as the savage Orks! Each player will take control of a unique squad or vehicle, working together as a team to ensure victory. The table can accommodate up to eight players - four per side, and games will be fast, furious and bloody, with a new battle beginning as soon as the previous one ends. That way, there are plenty of chances to experience the grim darkness of the far future... where there is only WAR! Sat. 1pm-3pm, Sat. 3pm-5pm, Sat. 6pm-8pm, Sun. 11am-1pm, Sun. 1pm-3pm.
