Unofficial weekend-long Mario Kart 7 tourney?

If it's a game that you plug into the wall or the game runs on batteries, you can find them inside this forum.

Unofficial weekend-long Mario Kart 7 tourney?

Post by KatrinaDraws »

Hey guys, depending on how many people are interested, I was thinking about making a Mario Kart 7 community for AB 2013. I would put the community code here [and also have it at my artists' alley booth]. I would make it the Thursday night of AB. People could duke it out via wi-fi all weekend, and then whoever is in the #1 spot on...let's tentatively say noon on Sunday can come to me and receive a few prints and buttons from me as a prize?

Are people interested in this? Do people have any suggestions?

Yessssss, I am SO down for this. My only issue is that... well, considering the spotty Wi-Fi access in hotels and at the con center, maybe it would be better to just arrange a time to hold an unofficial tournament in person? If it weren't for the dubious internet access, I'd say that was a good, idea, though.

Ah, okay. I knew the convention center had wi-fi, but I didn't know the quality of it. I was thinking wi-fi because it could account for a lot of people easily, but an in-person thing could work! I guess as the convention gets closer I will figure out a time and place (though the game room seems like the obvious choice and also I'm tentatively feeling Saturday morning-ish)?

If you have a 3DS but no copy of Mario Kart, it is still possible to play via download play(though if you do that it only lets you play as Shy Guy and you have to use the default kart)! Actually, being able to have people who don't own the game play would be a pretty big advantage to having an in-person meet.

Actually, yeah, for that and the reason that you can never really tell the quality of hotel or convention center Wi-Fi, an in-person meet might be better. Being able to have download play limitations is still better than nothing, and it does enable people who want in but don't have a 3DS/MK7 to play too. C: So I'm voting for that!

I hope this happens. I can't wait!
