Here's How the Game Room Works: The Movie: The Game

Post by GlennLikesStuff »

Hey everyone, I'm Glenn, one of the co-founders of Nexus Gaming. For all of you asking about how things are going to be happening for the game room, here's...

The Basics
  • [li]Everything available in the Game Room is free to play.[/li][li]We have next-gen and classic consoles, so you don't have to worry about a variety of systems.[/li][li]All the controllers will be attached to the systems (with the exception of the nintendo wii controllers.) You don't need to worry about renting out controllers like previous years.[/li][li]That being said, if you want to play games on an arcade stick, bring your own. Too many people have broken or stolen them from us or others in the past, and those few people ruined it for the rest of us.[/li][li]We have all of our own systems, you don't have to worry about bringing any. But thanks, anyways![/li]
Tournaments
  • [li]Yes, we'll be running tournaments. Sign-ups will be at the Operations table in the middle of the room.[/li][li]All tournaments have a roll-call to assure attendance. If you are not there for any reason, you won't be let in. Don't let that happen by show up ten to fifteen minutes prior to when the tournament is supposed to start.[/li][li]If you have a request for any tournaments, please request them! (Before the wall of text of the same games, yes, we plan on holding tournaments for smash bros. brawl, melee, modern warfare 2, MvC3, super street fighter iv, blazblue and Alfred Chicken for the SNES.)[/li]
If you have any other questions, feel free to let me know, and I'll make sure to uipdate this post accordingly.

Thanks for the update, I have a few questions:

Are the same games running on the same consoles all weekend? i.e. is there going to be a dedicated Marvel station, a dedicated Tekken station, etc. or will we be renting out those games as we want to play them?

Since we need to bring our own arcade sticks, can we expect a list of what consoles each fighting game will be on? My fight stick is PS3-only, if I have to mod it to work on a 360 I'd like to know way ahead of time.

Finally, I would be interested in entering a Tekken 6 tournament.

Hey there, good questions.

For the most part we do prefer a game rotation to keep the variety going, but we plan on keeping the more popular stations unchanged.

Just to clarify, there's no need to rent out anything, we'll have it all provided.

As for the arcade sticks, our fighters are on PS3. Do check up on this thread, however, because if that ever changes I'll make sure to update this thread.

All tournament sign-ups will be registered on the day of the tournament (the schedule of them I'll be posting when it gets closer to the event,) so all you'll need to do is come up to the ops table and tell the person there you'd like to sign up.

Thanks for the questions, let me know if I can answer anything else for you. :)

Thanks, although I have to wonder, will the game room actually open at 10 AM? Because the past few years I've been there, it's been delayed.
