Rockband Tournament Rules and Sign up

Post by diz »

Okay so what's the deal?

Rules
1. Rock our faces off. (We can all button press with the best of them, your merciful judges like to be entertained however. Yes there will be some style points won by Expert play but if you wanna risk your band getting disqualified by rule 2 then it's on you!)

2. Finish the song. (You'll get laughed at if you play on easy but other than that it's cool.) You're out if you can't finish. No ifs ands or buts.

3. Don't Break the Gear. (Insta-out if you kill our mech and we need to stop play to replace. You'll have a moment to test the equipment before starting.)

That's it for rules. We go fast. When we call your band you better be ready to go on.
Signups will start at 2:30 sharp on Saturday, half hour before the event. We'll be sulking in the Indy hallway with the sign up sheet. You'll need all four members present to sign up with badge numbers, a band name and your first song. We'll have the list available to choose from. If you don't have a band come down anyway and ask around.

The tournament has space for 8 bands and 4 alternates. We'll fill the band slots first then the alt slots. We'll do as many bands as we can in the first 80 minutes.

Your esteemed panel of very scientific judges will then squabble over who's the best four. Then another round to decide the top two. Then we decide what torture to inflict on the top two to decide a winner.

What will you win? Nada. Except the awesome fun of playing on a stage with a full backline, lights and concert level sound and the pleasure of rocking the faces off your peers.
