Anime would be nothing without art. This forum is here for artists to discuss the art show and artists' alley.

Artists who are interested in being asked for art for random stuff or even BIG projects should put the following information:
  • [li]Names[/li][li]contact info (like an email)[/li][li]Links to art samples[/li][li]Basic area (i'm suggesting the state you live in)[/li][li]What sorts of projects you'd be interested in[/li]
This way the place doesn't get cluttered with stuff that some people aren't going to want to see, and the people looking for artists who can't think of anywhere else to look might be able to find somebody.

Since i'm a real artist, i'll use myself as an example (but this entry is also authentic)

Hi, My name is Nikki
My area location is Southern N.H.

you can reach me at this email:
dragonpress at gmail dot com

I will accept any single piece commissions of the following type (no Big Projects, sorry):
  • [li]black and white or color (my style)[/li][li]No bigger than 8 1/2" x 11" (standard Size)[/li]

Pictures that get color will be done on photoshop and printed on thick photo paper.
Black and white pieces will be on a super heavy, bright laser resume cardstock.

Standard Prices are:
  • [li]Black and White - 40[/li][li]Color - 65[/li]
I will require payment first and CAN accept paypal at the above address. Shipping will be added to the price when i know where you are located.

I specialize in fantasy artwork (not tech) and you can see loads of examples in both my gallery AND my shop (which has alot of my newer work in the prints section) here at my website:

Will do commissions and big projects. Average commission price is $20 and varies between paper size, drawing complexity, and color. I do everything by hand, touch-ups will only be digital if requested.

I've done handmade wall-scrolls, glass mosaics, and some other wacky stuff, so please don't hesitate to contact me for odd projects.

I except Paypal and money order as means of payment only. In person at conventions I accept cash.

http://kamama-sanctuary.deviantart.com/ ... -105165433 (soft)
http://kamama-sanctuary.deviantart.com/ ... -105252480 (soft)

Basic area; MA

Projects I'd be interested in;
Pixel/traditional commissions. I'm best at OCs, not fanart, though I am capable of both.

Traditional; (note if you want it done with pencil and inking with microns, or the ballpoint)
B/W:
1 figure - $2
2 figures - $5
3 figures - $7
Color:
1 figure - $5
2 figures - $7
3 figures - $10

Digital; (note if you want pixel or soft.)
1 figure - $2
2 figures - $5
3 figures - $10

Digital costs less than traditional because traditional actually needs INK. Pixel work is done in MS Paint. Soft is done in Open Canvas vs 1.1. Traditional is either ballpoint or pencil then micron pens for ink, and prismacolor markers.

What I'm selling: Clay figures

As a grad student, my time is pretty limited but I usually make stuff at nights (and into the early mornings). That said, price usually consists of a)amount of clay used/size, 2)time it took, 3)how detailed it is

Price List:
$2-3 for small charm like objects http://macx5.deviantart.com/art/SUPER-S ... -104555239
$5-6 for smaller figures http://MacX5.deviantart.com/art/Ceramic ... n-50726675
$8 for more intricate 2.5x2inch figures http://macx5.deviantart.com/art/So-I-he ... z-77838319 and http://macx5.deviantart.com/art/Ceramic ... s-50727448
$10 http://macx5.deviantart.com/art/Ceramic ... n-50937139
$15-20 range http://macx5.deviantart.com/art/Ceramic ... s-53213301

FULL FIGURES (like action figure sizes)

$22 example http://macx5.deviantart.com/art/Ceramic ... n-83094723
$25 example http://macx5.deviantart.com/art/Ceramic ... K-46366129 and http://macx5.deviantart.com/art/Ceramic ... -103825047
$30ish http://MacX5.deviantart.com/art/Ceramic ... i-48826116
$35-40 example http://macx5.deviantart.com/art/Clay-ve ... -105098487
$50 (and up) http://macx5.deviantart.com/art/Ceramic ... -106682023

What I request for anyone asking me a commision is to attach or link me to some good quality images that hopefully show me different angles (especially if Im not familiar with the character). I also do original artwork commish or fanart related

I require payment in advance before starting the project. I accept checks both personal and electronic. Cash is fine too if you feel safe enough to do that...I don't do Paypal.

I can sculpt anything out of clay for you. Challenge me.

Area: Southern Connecticut

Interested In: Commissions, but not Big Projects. I favor two-dimensional artwork, though I've done crafty projects before and would not be opposed to more.

Commissions average $20 for 8.5"x11". Prices are lower for single characters, limited/no backgrounds, and black-and-white pieces. Coloring is more time/resource-intensive. Crafty projects vary in price based on what the project is and how much I'll need to get in materials.

Specific Samples: AB08 commission and hand-painted folding fans
Original character lineart
Keyring inserts prior to assembly
Kingdom Hearts II fanart pre-inking
Snowman ornaments (crafty project)
Character sketch done in Photoshop
Photoshop sketch of Jason (Friday the 13th) as a florist
Zombie Valentine stick figure comic
Computer-colored Legolas fanart

Hello, my name is Cat
My location is in Southern New Hampshire

I don't give out my email freely so you may go to one of these three sites to contact me:
Main site- http://kitcat4056.deviantart.com/
http://kitcat6640.livejournal.com/
http://www.paperdemon.com/profile/1813

I do a variety of artwork.

Traditional:
http://kitcat4056.deviantart.com/art/An ... e-88500438
http://kitcat4056.deviantart.com/art/Gr ... k-81644506
http://kitcat4056.deviantart.com/art/El ... -102958251

Digital:
http://kitcat4056.deviantart.com/art/Me ... -114668507
http://kitcat4056.deviantart.com/art/12 ... -106411701
http://kitcat4056.deviantart.com/art/Ba ... y-94465635

Clay:
http://kitcat4056.deviantart.com/art/Wo ... -104939457
http://kitcat4056.deviantart.com/art/Wo ... p-90961392
http://kitcat4056.deviantart.com/art/Sc ... -111696305

I do big and small projects. Keep in mind that the bigger the project, the more in-contact you must be with me for you to get it faster.

Traditional art for a sketch is $5 to a full color and shaded piece of about $60-$70 (Depends on paper size, characters, background, etc). Plus S&H price.

Digital, not so pricey, but not as grand since I only have Corel Essentials for the moment and even after a year of using it, I learn everyday with it. Prices range from $5 to $30, again, depending on certain attributes. I will not ship digitally done pieces. I will send you a hi res version of your piece. The hi res is for you to go to Staples, Kinkos, or home or wherever and print it out yourself. Saves us both time and money C: I'll make a low-res and post it on DeviantArt.

Clay pieces are pretty standard and won't change as much. If you purchase lots, the chances are I'll give you a discount and maybe throw in a couple free charms of choice. Maybe.
My specialties are Wobbles and Charms.
Wobbles range from $4-$10 apiece. Pre-mades of wobbles and charms are half off* (see below for more)
The highest I'll charge for a single wobble is $15 and that's for something like this: http://kitcat4056.deviantart.com/art/Wo ... -110036721
I highly doubt any anime/manga character can even think to match that little beast, so for the most part, wobbles will be the above mentioned price.
Charms range from $1-$3

With the drawings, traditional and digital, I ask for half of the payment after you're satisfied with the sketch. The second half will be asked for before I color it.
With clay, payment is up front as soon as you know what you want.
Paypal and personal checks are accepted.

There is no limit to what I can do for any character. From fan art to originals and everything in between. The only limit is our minds C:
I do have standards for the drawing pieces. No hardcore porn or any weird fetishes. I have the right to say no to drawing something but don't be afraid, ask before you assume.

*From now till March 15th, 2009 I'll be taking commissions and premades orders. After that I have to concentrate on my stock, display, and costume for AB'09. So even if you contact me on March 15th at midnight, I will accept your commission. Otherwise after that, unless I change my mind, commissions will be put on hold till after AB.

Thank you <3

Hi, I'm Jenn, and I'm out in western MA.

I'm a photographer, and I carry a number of prints ranging from music to nature to architecture -- not the stuff of anime, I know, but a number of photos make great reference material for artists. I can provide prints of anything in my DeviantART gallery, printed on photo quality paper, for the following prices:
$5 for a 4x6
$7 for a 5x7
$10 for an 8x10

For AB, I also do crochet chibis, and while I know many characters, I'm open to commissions as well.

Prices are as follows:
Chibis without hair (Pokemon, Totoro, and the like): $15
Chibis with hair: $20

Many of my chibi designs are simplified for energy and resource interests, but by request I can put more detail onto just about any doll. This might include making weapons, putting trim on a shirt collar, adding extra limbs, etc. This typically runs about $5 beyond the usual cost.

My email address is tomatobasilsoup at yahoo dotcom! ^^

Greetings, famed artists! It is I, the almighty Chotetsumaru, about to make a sterling impact in the ever-growing world of anime art, with the execution of my finest manga-style artwork. Without further ado, here's my intro:

Name - Karbia Yuan (dA/pen name(s): Chotetsumaru, "Cho-Daioh," "Cho-Sama")
KarasMMX@gmail.com / (781) 479-7478
Area - Lynn, MA

As a starving grad student and multi-talent extraordinaire, my work is composed of the following:

Traditional & Digital Works:
Character Studies/Profiles

They can include either a single character, as shown in these works:
Sample A (Sketch Turner)
Sample B (Guyver)
Sample C (Nostalgia Chick)
Sample D (Ryuk)

Or a group of characters, as shown in these works:
Sample A - Lugia & Ho-Oh
Sample B - Samurai Pizza Cats
Sample C - The Breakfast Club
Sample D - Mega Man 9 Robot Masters

Fanfic Work:

Crossover Story Pieces
==================
They can be done in one of 3 renditions:
- Lineart, no BG Sample
- Lineart w/ Colors, no BG Sample
- Lineart w/ full BG Sample

For these works, I only do backgrounds in colored pencils only, on a sheet no
bigger than 8.5 in. x 11 in (Letter size).

GAM3RS the Manga (Original Play - Brian Bielawski & Walter G. Meyer, Art/Story Re-Structuring - Chotetsumaru)

Besides the commission projects, I am hard at work on an original manga, based on a recent one-man comedy play that I saw recently during my college's Cyberarts Festival, titled GAM3RS, about an everyday "overqualified, underpaid, around-the-clock" tech-support operator who's dealing with his arrogant workmate, his picky, watchful boss, not to mention superficial, demanding over-the-phone customers and relatives while saving his kingdom from death by their menacing elf rivals west of their terrain in his MMORPG.

Assisted and joined by a dark sorceress, a blue dwarf, and an insubordinate page-boy, and under the online alter ego of Boreas the White Knight, Steve Jaros must lead his 1,000+ player-army on an epic raid to reclaim their relic, triumph over the elves, and become the most powerful knight--online--while at the same time, keep his true identity on the hush-hush from his rigid boss! How will Steve's dual life as a tech-support workaholic and an online RPG gamer flesh out?

The manga will be distributed in 15, 20, and 30-page samples, in English and/or Japanese.

Sample 1 - English / 日本語

Sample 2 - English / 日本語

Sample 3 - English / 日本語

Sample 4 - English / 日本語

Complete Character List and Prices/restrictions will be displayed upon request.

Ok... may not be a pro but CAN do my best. Look around my gallery and tell me what I could do for you.

Interested in Small projects. The biggest size I could go for is 8 1/2" x 11".

Prices are negotiable and tools are pencil, multiliners, markers, color pencils and a little photoshop. I like to believe I do cute "chibis" so ask me about that too. Another project that I have is personalized keychains. Want to know more? ;)

See you around

I'm currently working on ordered commissions AND restocking for my next small convention tour. (Anime Boston, Otakon, Portcon, and POSSIBLY Conneticon) I will obviously make more kimonos and simple anime costumes, but if ANYONE would like to suggest any other designs for me to make, especially all you GUYS out there. It would be really helpful. I want to do a good variety for this year to show what I can do! Thanx!

Projects:
I'm currently taking illustration and painting commissions.

For illustration commisions, prices will be as follows:
(8"x10" prints)
Black and White (inked)- $20
Color (colored pencil)- $30
Color (marker)- $40
Color (digital/computer)- $50

I'll also do a digital background for a colored pencil or marker picture for an extra five dollars.

For painting commissions, prices will vary. I use acrylic paint for all of my pieces. I can't even give a base price, because it entirely depends on the complexity of what I'm painting, the size of the canvas, etc.

Work examples:

A fantasy picture colored with colored pencil
Another fantasy drawing, colored digitally
A marker colored picture
An example of a colored pencil picture with a digital background
A painting of a puppy
Fantasy painting

Hi guys,

We've been crazy busy these past few weeks, but I wanted to let everyone going to Anime Boston know that we will be showing up and doing a bunch of pictures.

We are Alison & Miguel of Dragon's Den Unlimited and we can draw Anything you want. We are based out of Philadelphia, PA and can be reached at Codax (AT) DrgnDen.com

Please take a look at our portfolio: http://www.DrgnDen.com

Basic Price List
9x12" Ink - $20
9x12" Color (Prisma/Copic) - $40
12x18" CG - $60+

Larger sizes up to 19x24" in watercolor marker, and 24x36" in CG are also available.

We draw anything you want
We excel at Anime/Cosplay Portraits. We can draw you as your favourite character or even with your fave character... or even... WITH your favourite character ;P Though we would also love to also draw any original character you might have, even if you don't have a clear idea of what they look like. We also do mecha, fantasy creatures, disturbing nightmare creations from which there is no waking, and super mega happy adorable cute things, as I said... anything.

Payment & Delivery
We accept paypal and never charge for delivery.

If you have any questions at all, drop me an email. We'd love to draw for you *^.^*

I am looking for experienced manga artists to help me with my manga. Pay depends on amount of copies sold, but artist's always get exactly 50% of roylties (total sales). I am already able to draw it myself, but I lack experience in backgrounds. Anyone who can imitate my style of drawing is preferable. Please contact me at my email or look for me on Facebook (Cory Allen Armstrong)

You're probably going to have a hard time finding a background artist who's willing to go into a royalty-based project with you when you have no samples of your work online and no history of producing comics either for print or online publication.

Of course, you could very well find someone here interested (and I sincerely hope you do). You may have also have luck looking to collaborate with other budding comic artists via the forums on deviantart.com or conceptart.org

I'll second the recommendation for the other two venues. I know that Deviantart has a subforum specifically for jobs, both for job-seekers and job-offers.

And you will want to get samples online if you don't have any yet. Create a portfolio for your potential background artists to look over. They won't know if they're capable of mimicking your style if they don't know what it looks like.

Lastly, straight royalties are a tough sell if you don't have previous publication experience. It's usually best to offer a flat up-front payment, and then deduct that from subsequent royalties, much the way an author's book advance is done. Once enough royalties are earned to pay off the advance, then you start paying any further royalties to your background artist.

Registering for an account on Deviantart is just as simple as registering for the forums here, so it shouldn't take long. Not so certain about Conceptart.org, but it doesn't sound much more complicated.

I signed up for the conceptart one. Deviantart wouldnt let me upload my pictures without upgrading first for some reason. But if you like, you can view my pictures at conceptart.org. Look up user CAA and my pictures are there. There's not much yet, but it will give a feel of the style I draw.

Deviantart shouldn't be asking you to upgrade. Strange. What was the message you got when you tried?

There wasnt much of a message. I started uploading my pictures and it wouldnt show them for some reason. When I looked into it more, it said something about upgrading first. I'll try again and see exactly what is going on.

Okay. I went back to Deviantart.com and asked the people via email what the issue was. They told me I was trying to upload to the wrong file and told me which one I should be using! >,< Lesson learned! Anyway, if you would like to view my artwork, go to http://uichi-kun.daportfolio.com/.
