Artist Alley Application closed already at 2020?

Hi there
So I applied to Artist alley 2017 and I couldn't return 2018 and 2019. I'm wanted to get back in the game of application with AB. But I noticed that the application was already closed for 2020. I'm jus wondering if someone could explain to me what happened? Did I miss something from the 2 years that I haven't returned?
