I'm lurking, and hoping the sign-ups go up before I have to leave for work today. A friend and I are hoping to share a table this year, or get adjacent ones.

Rest assured I'm here checking out issues, making sure we don't crash and burn. There has been a heavier lag on the server. Using the real-time Google Analytics tracking, there's at least 150 people waiting right now.

Keep in mind that a number of people may have gone for the Pro Row opening.

I am curious who did go for the Pro Row? It's a nice idea, but I'd rather not pay the extra and go thru a jury process.

Currently I'm checking every couple minutes, since we were told it would most likely be on the hour, or close to it. I refreshed even more in the few minutes before and after 11:00.

Keep in mind that close to it could mean either before or after.

I totally would have tried for Pro Row since I do mostly my own art. Just couldn't afford it. If I get into AA I hope someone I know is going that will let me sleep in their room, lol. My con mate is up in the air about going due to a new baby.

That is correct. Mozilla, man.

You can set it to a variable length of time too. Though, to be warned, it will SCARE the piss out of you if you have headphones on.

I think I have earned a new nickname from my husband's friend "Anti-Social Kelly" because I am hiding in my studio refreshing the interwebs and they are all downstairs playing video games.

It would be worse if I was trying to get in solely on the strength of my art, which is awesome, but not to everyone's taste.

All the craft shows I try to get into are juried. I have only made it into one and never the more well known ones. It hurts but the worst part is the application fees and then you still don't get in, lol.

And yeah, I heard that most craft fairs are juried. But that does suck with the application fee, they shouldn't charge on top of a table fee. Though I suppose that would cut down on the number of people randomly signing up.

Clearly, they fail to appreciate the level of determination artists have regarding signups.

If my plane had been delayed a third time and I was stuck in a terminal, I'd be hogging the WiFi kiosk for this.

Funny thing is my husband decided to clean the attic today of all days and the attic door is in my studio. He kept hitting me with boxes and asking me questions. I was like Ugh I am busy! Refreshing the interwebs!

It's like they're really looking. It's not 'do I like it' it's 'does this match our standards?' which is a much more terrifying proposition

Ugh, that happened to me recently. I was checking Youmacon several times a day to see if there was any info on their Artists Alley, since they hadn't even announced when their AA registration was open. But even though I was checking the page that said "info will be here," they posted it somewhere else entirely, and opened registration with no warning. By the time I realized, it had been open for 3 days and all slots were full already. Very frustrating.

This is my pet peeve with many cons, with twitter, facebook, forums and websites, there is no reason why they can't get the word out to people in a timely manner.
