popular/loved anime and games for fanart

i feel like getting this going...it's helpful to me and perhaps some other artists who are going to be in the alley.

while i love anime and video games, i don't always have the time to keep up with it and know what's popular or just want people like in general. I want to make what people want to see and buy. so over time getting closer to the con, could we compile a list of the anime and video games that people would like to see in the alley?

I don't know how popular it is, but I would love to see some Princess Jellyfish (Kurgehime) art. I just started watching it and it's really cute~

I like Vampire Knight, Rurouni Kenshin, Samurai x, chobits, clannad, kannon, air, etc. but idk, i don't keep up with "popular anime" so i couldn't tell u whats "in" right now. i just like what i like :p

some people like video games too and Final Fantasy is still popular (though its not literally anime it still kinda counts)

so chances are this hasn't been that helpful @_@
but i agree that the classics will never die >_>

Count me among those who don't really keep up with the new/popular shows. Two of my favorites are Inuyasha and Saiyuki, and it always cheers me up when I get the occasional visitor who is excited to see stuff from those shows in the Alley.

For video games, add Smash Bros. (especially Brawl) and Legend of Zelda to the list. Smash Bros. comes with the added bonus of hitting several game fandoms at once.

just to add on you might want to add bleach and naruto too that list since there are thousands of people who always cosplay from those animes. and probably death note.

lol .Hack must be popular because I've gotten requests for it too. I have never seen most of the animes I get requests for. I feel so old.

well judging from cons of 2010 - stuffed that worked recently

) Hetalia - still popular but its isn't as explosive as it was 1-2 years ago. also need to count what other competing artists are drawing as well. almost everyone now has some sort of hetalia (most "fanart" artist at least)..hmm having the odd non main country tans may be a good idea

Black butler 1 + 2 - it got really popular (mostly due to 2nd season bringing the hype back). Not sure how live it will be for AB time though.

DRRR did well for 2010 but since the series have been over for a while not sure how it will do for next year

k-on... hmm probably fans out there but its getting old

older series that still sells well:

Ouran,fma, certain naruto and bleach charcters, vampire knight, avatar the last airbender, southpark etc etc

new series that may do well:

- Panty and stockings
- arakawa under the bridge
- whatever show that makes a big hit near april 2011

personally:
I love doing Ouran group pics

or clamp fanart.

You and me both. I don't usually have time for new anime (but I do for newer video games; go figure), and I have a personal thing where I only do fanart from stuff I've watched and like unless it's a commission. I just haven't seen a lot and thus need references.

I actually need to update my commission sign for the table to add "Please bring references! I haven't seen every show out there!

" (Or some variation on "just because it's popular doesn't mean I've seen it.")

Hellsing, Vampire Hunter D, Watchmen, Ergo Proxy, Labyrinth, Aliens, and Firefly are fandoms I look for when browsing around.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn stuff will sell pretty well now~

And I have been desperately searching for the table who will do Trinity Blood art and buttons. Especially the Orden (Cain, Isaak, Dietrich etc etc) It's so rare. :T

Trinity Blood art is a much wanted love I look for as well...

May add Abel and Cain to the Wobbles (the polymer clay figures that I make) if I have room...le sigh, need a new display XD

I'd also add to the list (unless I missed it and someone already mentioned it) Trigun. It was recently rereleased and there's an animated movie due out. Also, Vash could always use love C:

pokemon and digimon is amazing but pokemon just keeps going and going and going so it loses the classic feel where digimon is like eternal idk XD

and black/white is ok, gameplay and graphics good, but some of the new pokemon are like eh...run out of ideas. for example normally for pokemon they take like two types of animals to make a pokemon unique where well....for example one of the pokemon is just a blue duck....hard to tell its even a pokemon... http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l281/ ... 1s1p1d.gif

Pokemon... one of my biggest fanarts I do at cons, actually

And I am looking forward to Black and White. MOST of the pokemon in it look lame, but I almost always have the same pokemon in every game from the first generation (maybe 1 or 2 new ones) since they are usually kind enough to let you catch wild pokemon from the older games

Other than that, Im always on the lookout for my favorites: Death Note, Code Geass, Vampire Knight, Anything video game (nintendo/fallout), for movies anything from the Alien or Predator series both me and my boyfriend will throw money at you for, haha.

i am a HUGE digimon adventures fan - i can deeeeeefinitly do something digimon related for my table - and i've been meaning to do something for pokemon lately, i keep getting side tracked with other things though!

Lol, not really sure what's "in" right now, but I know I would personally love to see anything Mai Hime/Mai Otome, especially with Natsuki and Shizuru involved lol.
