no. thats why we do this this way - it doesn't automatically shut down AT ALL - and in fact, will act as the backup reserve list should we need it. this is one of the reasons things have been a lot calmer around here lately.

the [color:red]old system[/color] used to shut down when the MINIMUM usuable space was hit (aka, if we had 10 tables, and 10 people, it would stop at 10, even if half of those people only wanted 4 feet....leaving space in the alley for other folks!)

Hello! I too did not receive any confirmation whatsoever. It's probably because of the weird lapse where a few emails didn't get through, but my browser also took a long time and has made me nervous. I hate to ask, but was my info saved?

So is it possible to gage an update as to the number of people/ tables up so far?

I understand if thats too soon to tell, just curious as to where we are at.

I think I remember reading that you can't increase the min size so hmm - is there a huge possibility that we won't end up with the 6 or is that not something you guys know yet? I just don't want the other people who I signed up for to get mad at me if we end up with the 4.

i think at this stage in the game its mostly us die hards who are signing up now, so from past exp im gonna say were ok.

but im sure nikki will have some updates for us as we roll along.

no idea - i'm not in the best concentration frame of mind right at the moment - and to do this, i'll actually have to go and check every single entry to see what the min/maxes are....and then do some math. math is not a strong point. math is a fail point. i do LOTS of double checking with math. not something to be attempted if i cannot concentrate.

suffice it to say, we have more actual people today then i expected - but its not necessarily out of control yet.

I have been trying since 1:30 to reserve a table but my only internet is on my phone, I filled out the form but keep getting an error message when I submit it. any help?

after the LOI phase is done ( it took about a week last year) nikki will review the applications and if she can fit you in, you will get an email with the next set of steps. it was mentioned that this phase was going to be completed (hopefully) before xmas, so just jeep an eye out in your email and on the forums for the next few weeks.

Hey, Thanks I was finally able to submit once I got home. once I was on a real computer I found out that there was one of those verfication-retype these words- that my phone's email couldn't process.

Don't feel bad, I'm terrible at math too! Always makes for an interesting AA weekend :P

Does anyone else feel strange saying AA a lot, like we're all alcoholics or something?! :P

and yes - it does. whenever i post anything about the AA in my facebook, i have people asking me about what we're making alcoholics sign up FOR....

:laugh: I think that's the reason I usually refer to it as the Alley, rather than AA. And then some cons decide to be weird and call it something like Artists' Colony. *cough*CTCon*cough* ;)

I never got a confirmation email either, though when I tried to re-submit the information just to be sure that it got through, I got an automatic message saying that I couldn't submit again because my email address had already submitted a LOI. It's tanya 2 austin (at) gmail, if you wouldn't mind checking for me.

just barely scraped by in the last round of tables last year, so I'm paranoid this year!

Hi! Just a few questions: If a friend and I want to use the same table and do commissions, do we need to sign up individually or together? And can we use the same table for individual commissions? And one last question: How much space has been filled?

It would probably be best for your friend and you to sign up together (one of you signs up, then you share). Otherwise there's no guarantee you'll be next to each other.

btw when should we be signing up for anime boston? does it happen the same time if we get a table? but what if we dont get a table we might not know till like x-mas and by then the pre reg. prices go up. how should we do this?

you are able to get a badge for you at the time you purchase your table at a set price. i dont recall if it is discounted but if u have helpers i beleive they need to register on their own.


right now it look like it would be 40-45 bucks to register before xmas.

My names Heather Bloss. I just wanted to make sure that I'm in since I was at NYAF and my friend had to register for me(thankfully).

I haven't recieved any confirmation email so I'm guessing I hit the email snag as well?

I was in the artists alley at AAC but I never got a chance to stop by and ask :)

Indeed. The artist signing up for the table will be able to register when they pay for their space, and usually get the discount because of this. All assistants, though, will need to pre-register now if they want the lowest price.

As for waiting and then not getting in, hopefully everything goes through early enough this year (since we got that head-start and all) that pre-reg prices don't go up too dramatically before we find out if we have a space or not.

Oh man, we were supposed to get confirmation emails :O I didn't get one, my name is Carolyn Dickson.

Hehe, I was the one who like immediately emailed you asking if I could change the email I registered as to my gmail one, so I would assume I'm on the list since you responded? XD I've just been super paranoid about the whole process and it would be a peace of mind to know if I actually did end up on the list.

Hello! This is my first time attending an artist alley and also attending AB.

Few little questions... If I was to get a table, got everything all settled (everything all paid for, etc.), what would happen if I was unable to attend the convention on that Sunday due to it being Easter Sunday? Would I have to report to someone that my table would be empty?

As someone who actually does not attend on Sundays, you don't really need to tell anyone that your space won't be used that day. Just make sure you get there by the deadline Saturday morning so your table isn't sold to someone else.

What I do, usually, is see if there's someone else who wants to use my space on Sunday, and they usually pay me a small share of the space's cost. They get some selling time they might not otherwise have, and I get to defray the cost of my space a little. Everybody wins. :)

The Saturday 10am check-in rule is ONLY for Saturday because some people can't take off from school/work to be at the convention Thursday night or Friday, and we understand that. Saturday at 10am is intended to give AA participants plenty of time to get to the convention center and check into the AA.

It's also meant to deter people from buying a table and then never showing up. It's not fair to artists who were unable to get space. Empty or unclaimed spaces will be re-sold at the convention to anybody waiting for a table.
