Anime Boston

It's time for the summer convention season and Anime Boston will be there taking pre-registrations for $40 at the following conventions:

Portcon Maine : June 18th - 21st
- AB representatives will not be arriving until late Friday, so pre-registration will be available Saturday and Sunday only.

Otakon : July 17th-19th
- We will be at booth 415 in the dealer's room and will be available all 3 days.

ConnectiCon : July 31st - August 2nd
- Once again, we will be in the dealer's room and available all 3 days.

Please remember that all pre-registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Anime Boston 2010 will be held at the Hynes Convention Center and Sheraton Boston Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts from April 2nd through April 4th, 2010.

Does this mean that the minimum early registration rate is now $40 instead of $35?

Yes. Due to rising costs of the convention and increasing percentage of pre-registered attendees versus at-con, we can no longer offer registration for the lowest tier price.

Well, it's not like the $35 price was cut entirely. 172 people pre-registered for that much.

I had noticed that, though. AB had something like 13,000 pre-regs this year, right (I'm basing this off of hearing that there were 'not quite 14,000)? Perfectly understandable to raise the low tier. $40 is a great price for a weekend of awesomeness, anyway~.

It was actually 10k, but still, our usual trend is to have less pre-reg than at-con. This year, 2/3 of our attendees pre-regged.

you think it be 35 online if it goes online? or no you not doing that anymore grrrrrr.

It will be $40 when it goes online.

Does that mean that the at-con price will change as well?

That has yet to be determined, but we will let you know if it does.

I'll take the $40 pre-reg. I'm going to do it at ConnectiCon.

So, any idea when the first in person prereg for AB'09 at Tokyo Kid or Comicopia will be? I know one of those usually happens before prereg goes online.

We'll start planning those once we get done with Connecticon and wrap up our Summer con schedule.

What about AAC? or is that to far in the future?

AAC is in the fall.

I already pre-registered at CTCon 09. I will still have Orochimaru on my badge, I hope.

Lol Can't go to any of those il have to see what other Con appear in 2009 but im Going to AB2010 for sure.

Does anyone have any idea or time frame when to expect online registration to go up? I wasn't sure if I could go to AB 2010 during AB 2009, but now I know that weekend is free (yay!). The only bad news is that I won't be going near the Boston area nor any other conventions anytime soon (probably till AB2010). Any time frame range as to when this will go up would be great, I know it is up by Christmas time.

We don't have a specific date yet for when online pre-registration will be up. As soon as we have a date set, or have more information available, announcements will be made on the main website and in the forums. There will be ample time for non-local attendees to pre-register online for AB2010. Thank you for your patience and please keep checking in for more updates.
