Anime Boston Merch!

Post by Pham »

Once again, Anime Boston will be selling official shirts, pins and a few surprise items! Come visit the merch table just inside the dealer's room to check out our offerings; this year we have souvenirs to fit any budget and taste!

Just a reminder: We sold out of t-shirts last year, and although we ordered more this year, we fully expect to sell out again. If you want to be sure of getting a shirt, and getting a shirt in the right size, come see us early!

That's why my first purchase at AB each year is that year's T-shirt.
I'm wondering if the 08 shirts will be on grey, like the 06 ones were. It would be interesting if all odd years were black and even years were grey.

Ha! This is an awesome idea. Like color coded sets of books.

No, I'm afraid we've reverted to black. It seems to be a very popular color with our attendees, and it makes for a better screen impression on the four different colored shirts we have to print.

We will be taking suggestions for future merch ideas, however. If I get enough people saying they want grey, or white, or yellow shirts, who am I to complain?

Sorry, the art department has been playing very close to the chest about art this year, and they've worked so hard, I'd hate to spoil the surprise.

No girls/baby dolls, I am sorry; I just couldn't make the budget fit it. But either baby dolls or hoodies are tops of the list to try in coming years. Please stop by and demand baby dolls. 8)

I definitely will! :D I'd buy a hoodie or a babydoll, but the regular tees just bunch up on me! sad.

We will have very pretty, flip-top, screw-lid water bottles. They're shiny and blue, and very practical for the hot and exhausting work that cons are. 8)

We'll also have two surprises. Come see them!

I don't remember fans, but I've only been in charge of the department for two years now, so they might've been before my time. Sadly, I couldn't find anyone to produce them cheaply enough to make them worth it for us.

...because we really haven't used it since 2004 and because the quality of Cafepress stuff isn't as good as what we sell at the convention.

It hasn't been shut off because occasionally staff like to amuse themselves and pick up some AB2002 shirts or buttons. ;)

As far as I know, I'm the only person who has ever updated the store.

Okay, well... since you guys ran out of shirts last year, that tells me that there's a lot of demand for product. If you don't have the money upfront to pay for the needed amount of product to meet demand, why not use cafepress for some extra money since it would get used? Even if the quality isn't as good? As long as there's something upfront stating that the quality won't be the same as shirts actually purchased at the con, that's your disclaimer for anyone who tries to complain about it after receiving their item. I think it only makes sense for you to use it since you have it. no?

You're selling shirts? Good, my Voltron one just got a hole in the seam and is coming undone so I need a new sleeping shirt. I can't wait to see what AB merch there is.

I just want to clarify... after re-reading my post, I wasn't trying to come off snarky. I was only honestly asking a question.

Can someone please update the cafepress website for 2008?

I love the Water Bottles. I lost my staff one from 2007 on Saturday, so I have a new Water Bottle for future conventions.

I wish to apologize to everyone who took the time to visit the Anime Boston merch table and found that we had already sold out of t-shirts and pins this year.

I did up our order by two hundred shirts, after selling out so early last year. This was obviously not nearly enough, and we were out of most sizes by Saturday afternoon. Although I do like to sell out, I wasn't happy about turning away so many people.

We consider the shirts to be a particular collectable, and have never, and likely will never reprint or offer them elsewhere. I am sorry for this, I know it sucks.

If anyone has any specific concerns, I do encourage you to PT me, or post them here on this forum, and I will do my best to at least give you an answer.

Thanks for coming to see our offerings during AB 08!
