Still looking for a hotel room? We now have an overflow hotel block!

The Westin Copley Place, Boston
10 Huntington Avenue
Boston, MA 02116

(617) 262-9600 - Our block name is Anime 2008

Double Bed Rooms Only

$185 for 2 people
$215 for 3 people
$245 for 4 people
+ applicable taxes

Rollaways are free, limited to 1 per room.

Reservation Link

The Westin is also connected to the skywalk. You can see it on the map here:

Area Map

We tried to book the Hilton, but they are currently undergoing renovations and they have already had some people reserve there. They only had 3 double rooms left so we had to find an alternative.

Unfortunately, all of the hotels in the convention center area are expensive. The Sheraton and the Marriott are as well.

That's just the way it is.

The only places in Boston you can get a room for under $150/night are the YMCA, YWCA, and the Youth Hostels.

Has anyone noticed that on the hotel information page that although they are sold out, the rates for the Sheraton and the Marriot have dropped to $105 and $109? I paid a deposit of $208, which is one night at the original rate plus taxes. When we check in, I will have a printout of the hotel information page and my bank statement showing the charge, and I'm calling them on it.

Uh... Where exactly do you see this? Because I certainly do not see these numbers on our Hotel page.

Edit: Oh, I think I can see it now. What you're seeing is $185 and $189 rates of the Sheraton and Marriott being crossed out, respectfully. So, this is what you have: [strike]$185[/strike] and [strike]$189[/strike].

Oops, my bad. Those look a lot like zeros! I thought it was kinda funny that I was the only one noticing that! Duh.

Don't worry about it and the reason nobody paid any mind to it is porbably because prices normally go up, not down most of the time. :)

In hindsight, I'm REALLY glad I made that post! I would have felt like WAY more of an ass bringing that to the attention of the hotel! Thanks guys!

I just reserved my room for the Westin, but with tax, it's going to cost me and my friend $208 altogether....which honestly I don't mind since it's my favorite weekend of the whole year :)

If it makes you feel better about spending that kind of cash, my boyfriend and I shelled out $630 to the Marriott for 3 nights :P

^_^ 3 people for 2 nights. $403 Hilton including the 12.5% tax a night.

I wish I knew about the overflow hotel sooner, but my comp was down!! I had to tell some friends that they couldn't come with me because the con hotels were full.

My friends and I are staying at the Back Bay Hilton.
Choice between less walking for more money, or more walking for less money. My friends chose less walking. Original plan was for Marriott, but they messed up my friend's res. ALWAYS check your res. Especially if you made it more than a few months ahead of the con. Make SURE you got the rate you think you got.

Hopefully, next year we'll be able to res a room at the Sheraton.

We're in the Hilton Boston Back Bay too. We got our room through Hotwire for only $105/night for a room w/ 2 double beds. ^_^

Hotwire is indeed a nice site. I've gotten some great rooms through them at some really awesome hotels.
I got one in Montreal at one of the Delta hotels -- direct elevator access down the hall from me that led straight to one of the underground malls -- and directly in the food court too.. so quick cheap breakfast or snack if I wanted it. :)

Anyway.. I'm getting a little off-topic.

Good tip, make sure they put you in for the right rate. I have a copy of the confirmation e-mail stating $189 a night :) It's still expensive as all get out, but hey..it's my vacation (a whole 30 miles from home! whoo!), lol.

Thanks to the Hotwire tip. I initially booked using the AB overflow block but HW gave me the same hotel for $149+tax. I'm sure I could have tried other discount sites but I am happy with this.

I just booked at the hilton through hotwire for $102/night, came to $236 and some change for friday/saturday with tax.
Thats what we paid for one night last year. So just a tip, hotwire is really good so long as you wait long enough, there were lots of other good deals available for the same area.

(if your still looking for a room I think the listing is still up, it'll say back bay copley square hotel, 3.5 stars, 102/night for two people. ^.^)

The deals are pretty good for 2 reasons. The first being the fact that we're already this close to the dates in question. The second... well, the best way to counter a possible bad experience with lots of "strange guests" is to offer low low prices - just ask hotels how difficult it is to sell rooms when things like the Fetish Fair Fleamarket are in town.

;_; aww I'm hurt. lol kidding.
I called Marriot to check rate...they are rude. >XD But that's my opinion and the person I got on the phone. Well, at least all the hotels are connected! Everyone will be dry!
