Anime Boston 2017 Theme: Retro!

Post by Faceman »

The Anime Boston website has been rolled over to prepare for the 2017 convention. Our theme this year is "Retro", celebrating old school anime from the 1950s-1990s.

Stay tuned for future updates and announcements!

I'd give it the nod. The manga first appeared in late 1996; the first anime episode aired late 2000.

I've got a similar problem with Azumanga Daioh; it arrived in print in 1999, but the anime didn't premiere until 2002...

Same problem here- I'm going with D.N. Angel- The manga came out in '97, but the anime was in '03.

No surprise there. Most of these were from the old Urban Vision that went belly up around 2010.

I saw that at Robert's Anime Corner Store, they have Biohunter Special Edition DVD. It's out discontinued and of print, & is limited to stock on hand. I should get one before it's gone for good...

I think that AMV we saw about old Toonami and Adult Swim programming would be fitting for next year's theme.

Hooray for old people! My first anime was a bootleg VHS copy of Vampire Hunter D I rented for $2 from the local comic book store. I still have most of the Lodoss War VHS tapes I bought as well.

Had a couple of hundred VHS tapes back in the day. All gone now...

...and speaking of Record of Lodoss War, it appears that the U.S. license has long since lapsed...

I'm sorry, but could you clarify by what you mean that they're using an old masquerade?
