... Easter weekend (2016), Nothing Particularly Interesting (2017), Easter Weekend (2018), Easter Weekend (2019)...

You should have PAX and AB at the same place, that may be sweet. PAX had SO much space they didnt use.

Way to be on the ball! This makes it ALOT easier to plan out costumes. It'd be even better if the themes were planned out ahead of time in the same fashion.

I do have a complaint, but not against the timing of the cons near holidays. You get the slot you can get, I don't imagine it's entirely up to the AB staff.

In 2009 the con was 22, 23 and 24 May. a beautiful, sunny, and mild/warm weekend, after most college finals and in the peak of the season when all the flowers are blooming.

Now the con is happening earlier, and colder, in 2014.

Am I the only one who is concerned that we're going to get a huge, huge blizzard and have to cancel? I remember taking meteorology in 2010, and there was a scare that we would have snow on that day. Lest I remember Easter Sunday when I was five. Day after a 50 degree day, no snow on the ground, and, suddenly, overnight, three feet of it.

/whining

Thank you for publishing your future dates, this'll help a lot for planning time off for the cons, and planning around them (Don't want to book a trip halfway across the world seven months in advance just to find out that AB comes directly in the middle of that trip. Also would be nice to give definitive dates that I need off to my bosses for the next four years). 2013 has a prime slot. Also staying at the Hynes is beyond awesome.

I'm glad that you got the dates posted up. Sadly, it would appear that provided I keep my current job, 2012 will be the final year I attend AB for some time to come. Yup, I'm able to figure out my work schedule for decades in advance if I so choose, and in my line of work there's no such thing as personal days or sick days. Part of the downside to having a rigid two week on, two week off schedule.

Ah well, I've been able to attend every year since 2008, and before that it was an every other year sort of thing, so it'll probably go back to that eventually. Hopefully 2012 will be good enough to tide me over until at least 2016!

XD I meant that we had predicted snow for AB '10.

But we did learn about climatology, which can give you an estimate as to when the last snowfall of the season will be. That's why i was concerned.

I do share this snow concern :-( Considering yesterday was the first day of spring and what did it do all day? SNOW!!! Luckily snow this time of year doesn't usually stick around too long. Except the April Fools blizzard...

However, unless conditions are critical I see no reason for AB to really cancel unless those in charge and all the guests can't travel. That could be a potential problem. As long as everyone can get there and then get home...it can blizzard all weekend since we don't need to leave for much.

The last time AB was in March, we did purchase weather insurance in case of snow. We'll look into that option again when the time comes. :)

Another thing to keep in mind is that while we do get snow as late as April, once we hit February that snowstorm is not going to last as long as snowstorms in November-January. The days are longer, and we're apt to have a warm sunny day right after to melt the storm. That's not to say they can't be intense, but I've lived here all my life and big huge storms in late winter/early spring are rare and the snow doesn't stick around.

The dates look good. A lot of people complain about holiday weekends, but they're convenient for me as a student.

I'm especially liking 2013, because that's going to be after finals, so no stressing. :) AB 2014 will likely by right at the end of Spring Break, and if that's the case then my stress levels will be low then as well.

Try getting Thursday, Friday, and Saturday off during Easter weekend while working at an under staffed grocery store, and they need you no matter what. I had to tell my managers last year "oh hey, btw I'm not going to be here Easter" they weren't too happy at all.

A lot of us have jobs, and for some of us our jobs don't like anyone taking time off during Holidays, but you know what worked for me really well? "Well you see, I won't be able to work here Easter weekend because I'll be in Boston volunteering during that weekend, so I won't be anywhere near this store. Sorry!" It worked last year, they weren't happy, but it worked.

May is actually perfect, because college students don't have to worry about if it will fall during exams... generally.

Plus my best friend will be home by then, so maybe she'll finally be able to come back that year.

It already started....if you had pre-regged in the dealer's room at the convention. Online registration for this year's con didn't open until October 15 last year, so I probably wouldn't expect it much before then.

Protip: Preregistering for both events is less than half the cost to stay at any of the hotels in the area for one night. The pass to get in is, in all honestly, one of the least expensive things you're going to be dealing with all weekend.

DAMN RIGHT! :D

If anything, I expect more day passes than weekend passes being sold for both cons, at least compared to day-pass sales for all AB's from 2011 and before. It kinda sucks that PAX is like on the other end of the city, though it shouldn't be too much of a problem if you take the green line to the blue line.

If anything, I expect more day passes than weekend passes being sold for both cons, at least compared to day-pass sales for all AB's from 2011 and before. It kinda sucks that PAX is like on the other end of the city, though it shouldn't be too much of a problem if you take the green line to the blue line.
Hynes to BCEC: Hynes/ICA or Prudential (Green line) to Park St, Red line to South Station, Silver line to World Trade Center.

It's also pretty walkable, or even if you just want to walk part of the way (like to Park Street). Get in a little exercise! :D It's also not in any way a bad thing to cut through the Public Garden and the Common to get to the station, especially in the springtime (if you're lucky, you might catch sweet little baby ducks swimming in puddles at the Public Garden which is pretty much one of the best memories a person can ever have if you are charmed by darling little baby ducks who are so tiny that they can swim in a puddle).

ok I'm legit so pumped about 2013 being in May cuz I'll be in college and out of school for the summer by then ^-^ I think that would also be the first year I won't have to leave at 3 for passover.
