Anime Boston

Anime Boston/New England Anime Society signed an addendum with the Sheraton Boston Hotel last week. I'm waiting to receive the website links, hopefully by the end of this week they will be up on the website.

The following terms have been negotiated:

1) Check in age has been reduced from 21 years of age to 20 years of age. The Sheraton was very happy last year. There were fewer problems than in the previous year and they link this to increasing the check in age minimum from 18 to 21. That being said, they are willing to compromise.

[color:red]IF things go well at the hotel in 2011, there is a chance we will be able to reduce the age further. HOWEVER, if things go poorly they will be increasing the check in age back up to 21 and there will be no further negotiating on that issue. So, it is up to all of you to be good guests at the hotel.[/color]

2) Check out time has been extended from 10AM to 11AM. We tried for Noon but with so many rooms checking out at once, the housekeeping staff needs that extra hour for turning over the rooms, especially on a holiday when they may have reduced staff.

[color:green]3) The hotel is doing away with the pre-pay option. Everyone will pay at CHECK-IN.[/color]

Room rates per night will be as follows:

Singles/Double $ 199.00 ($227.76 with tax)
Triple $ 239.00 ($273.54 with tax)
Quad $ 279.00 ($319.32 with tax)

There will be a QUIET and a SOCIAL block.

oh thank goodness. we had so much trouble figuring out who would check us into the hotel just because of the 21 year old thing which would have also increased the amount of people we would have to bring which was a pain in the butt.

Do these prices already include the discount?

Mary- Thanks for all your hard work. BUT will they ADD more rooms when your link goes up?? I just talked to Sheraton and they have told me they have sold out of all the Anime Boston rooms and they are no longer available at that reduced rate.

I'm not sure how that's possible when the links haven't been posted yet. I am still waiting for the links from the hotel and I know our Sales Manager was out of the office until today. It's possible that the rooms are locked down until they are divided between the quiet and social blocks.

I received the links from the hotel. The Webmaster and I will be working together to get the web page up as soon as we can. It should be up by the end of the weekend.

I'm actually glad they did away with the pre-pay. I chose that last year and completely forgot so when I suddenly got an over $900 transaction, I near panicked. This gives me a chance to pay down my credit card in time.

Not gonna lie, this is beautiful.

I know you said that everyone will pay at check in but on the hotel info page it is still saying that a nights deposit is required for all hotel booking.

Are the links to get a room up yet? Or did they already sell out? Also, if a room is a quad, does that mean only 4 are allowed to sleep in room? Or do they have cot options?

You can reserve in the Social Block or the Quiet Block.

A quad means 4 people. The maximum number of people in a double bed room is 4. If you have more than 4 people in your room, you run the risk of being kicked out of the hotel.

Rollaway beds at the Sheraton are available on a first come, first served basis. They are "Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Rollaway" beds and are the exact same bed as the "Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds" currently in the rooms, the only difference being that the rollaway is mobile. They include all the sheets, duvet covers, and pillow.
