MTVâ€™S MADE will be interviewing this weekend at Anime Boston! They are looking for high school students who want to be potential candidates on our show...

MADE is all about making dreams come true. We want to prove that with hard work, and a little help from MTV, you can achieve your goals.

MTV is looking for your specific, individual goal or aspiration that is attainable within a few weeks time! They are not looking for a vague goal, like "I want to be a starâ€ or "I want to be famous.â€ Your goal should be something that you can attain with the help of our experts during the next 5 months. If your goal takes years and years of training, MTV canâ€™t help you out this time, sorry!

Still, this is very interesting. Will MTV be filming other things at the convention, or just interviewing people in a select panel room or something?

Never mind that, I wonder why Made is coming to AB and not going to an actual high school or be like Extreme Makeover Home Edition and have some type of submission process.

Going to Anime Boston is probably seen as more efficient. You have 14,000+ teenagers in one location, instead of traveling around to several different high schools to get that many kids.

lol MADE is trying to transform an otaku or someone of the sorts. I guess it will be interesting to see if someone does actually get on the show from there.

I was watching episodes of Daria on Youtube a while ago, and the show ages very well. Ahh, all that awesome mid-late 90's music...

either way, I think this is great. I used to watch Made (back when I had cable) and the best part of the show, IMO, was not if the person succeeded or not (that was great too) but the self esteem that the person gained. I think a lot of people (especially the "freaks" -_- ) who go to cons.

My coworker's son in law was on MADE, she said they make you out to be a lot worse than you actually are, just FYI for anyone considering it. But you get compensated...so it's probably worth it

OH MY GOD. This just made my day!! I didn't have cable as a kid (my parents still are unable to get it), so my only exposure to Daria was when my friend filled a VHS with a marathon they showed one day. I watched those same 6 episodes over and over and over again.

It's pretty intense that MTV would decide to hold interviews at anime boston for MADE. They're bound to find some hardcore Otaku's who are dying to learn something totally new. I know I wish I could learn to play the drums or maybe voice act.

I bet the only reason they're going to AB is to find some nerd and make it so they can alter their likes to suit societys standards. Even conventions arn't safe for us to get away from what's considered 'normal' from society.

they have a whole range of people on the show, nerds who want to rap, cheerleaders who want to play soccer, nerdy goth girls who want to be prom queen, triathletes that want to learn to figure skate.
I didn't see the episode, but I heard it was really good. The show is more about raising the persons self confidence then ridiculing them.
You sign up to be on the show, you tell them what you want to be made into, they dont tell you.

Society has norms, there are the inside groups of socially acceptable people, and the out groups. No one can force you to be anything you dont want to be and society is always going to heavily influence you to go with the masses. Its just how it works.
Realize this, and move past it :/
I mean really look at cosplayers from an outside view...you're dressing up as cartoon characters for 3 days and spend lots of money to do so. Kinda weird

Does anyone know when this episode aired? I was talking to a few people on Facebook in regards to it (apparently, there was another anime-geek type girl on MADE as well... not too long ago... but not the same one from AB.) I'd like to try and find it on YouTube or Hulu or something.

This show is more about building self-confidence than about giving a person a "societally acceptable" personality makeover. I almost wish my generation had something like this when we were teenagers. Everyone has their own insecurities, and from what I've seen of MADE, it looks like the counselors on the show really work at getting these teens to work past all of that.

If anyone has any info on the episode #, air date, etc, please let me know!

I don't know if this MADE was ever made lol. But in regards to another anime geek on MADE, there was one and it was aired just last month. She's a Vic Mignogna fan wanted to be more confident and open about herself. you can preview it on here.
