Starlight Ball Tickets are available!

Things to know:

1. The Ball is tentatively scheduled from 7:30 to 11pm on Saturday, the masquerade is scheduled from 6 to 9. We fought very, very, very hard to have as little overlap as possible but we have to vie for time just like every other event. If you have any concerns about with the time slot itself you are free to contact programming through the contact form

2. Tickets cost $3 and all proceeds benefit Central New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

3. Only those who are registered for the convention can purchase a ticket, you will need your Badge ID number in order to register, this is normally a 4 or 5 digit number. If you have any questions about this you can contact registration through the contact form

4. Each person is only allowed to register for one ticket. The ticketing system has a glitch where it allows you to submit more than one request. We however are tracking the tickets, and only one ticket is allowed per valid badge ID. It is your responsibility to follow this rule, we may not be able to fully reimburse you if you improperly reserve ball tickets.

For more information, please see the main formal ball page.

When I registered for the con, I bought the tickets for my boyfriend and myself, so I just used my email address for both of the registrations so that it would be in the same place (for easy printing later). I just bought my ticket, but when I try and register his, it's telling me that I'm already registered since I used the same email address.

How do I get around this?

Use a different email, preferably your boyfriends.

Will it make a difference since the con tickets are both registered under mine?

No. The only thing that matters as far as tying the tickets to your reg is the Badge ID. As long as it matches your BF's registration, you'll be fine.

Can I bring my Giant gilbird as my date to the formal? He has the formal prussian hat and neck wear. He is a costume prop for a friend of mine that is going. but he is on the large side.

As the dress code states large props are not allowed, its a crowded space and they will be a hazard.

Just a quick note that the online tickets sold out a few days ago. More ticket will be available at the convention, 1 hour before the dance lesson. Attendees will not be allowed to line up more than 30mins before tickets are released. Right now it looks like all this will happen sometime saturday morning.

I've never been to a convention before, so I'm new to all of this.

I didn't get to buy my ticket online, so can I buy one when I'm there? I'm going with a college group, and I don't know if we are registered for the convention yet.

I'm not staff, but I know that this question has been answered a few times so to assist our ball coordinators (who I know are busy enough as it is)

It's sad to hear the Dance will overlap with the Masquerade, but there's always the Closing Ceremony to wrap things up.

The dance is way more important IMO :D

I look forward to dancing with...all of you :D

There are 600 tickets total, half are available online and half are at con, so 300 will be available saturday morning.

The formal and dance are different. The formal requires room for people to do ballroom dances and does not work well as an overcrowded event, meanwhile the Friday and Saturday night dances don't have table space for people sitting and don't require room for ballroom dancing. -_^

You could always go to the Masquerade first, and come to the ball later.

Amy is correct the ball and the masq are not at the exact same slot, the ball starts 90 mins after the masquerade starts, which is when most of the skits are over and you're awaiting award judging, so it's quite possible to make most of both. The ball coordinators fought really hard to have as little overlap as possible, but in the end its a decision made by programming, if you have issue with it please contact programming at animeboston.com

I remember that. I waited in line for almost an hour to just GET IN. And I had gotten there relatively early. I actually haven't been to the ball since but I'm planning to go this year :-) I already bought my ticket. But my girlfriend on the other hand...waited and waited until they sold out of course. =_= So hopefully she can get on on Saturday morning.
