AMV DINNER 2015!! - Uno's Invasion Edition

What happens at the dinner?
Hanging out with your fellow editors and friends
Exchanging editing Hardship stories.
Possibly a group card game (Apples to Apples or Cards against Humanity)
Eating, lots of drinking and merry making.
The infamous group photo.
Contest prediction game (which I always get wrong)

This is not an Official AB Event..
You may see staffers at this event..
However this is an off-sight get together run by me and is not the responsibility of Anime Boston.

I see no need to change battle tactics at this time.

A good location for the following reasons:
1. Decent priced food.
2. Reservation Friendly.
3. Decently priced booze.
4. Almost no wait.
5. Not loud like the food court.
6. The staff have treated us well in the past.
7. A lot of us have been there before and know how to get there.

I still think their food is okay. There's only so many places something like this could be hosted where it caters to a wide variety of tastes, is pretty cheap cost-wise, and is local. It's why we go every year too.

I've had their pizza, and been quite disappointed with it. Their fish is alright. Their steak tips were okay. They actually had these coffee encrusted steak tips in September that were actually better than they sound, but it was a temporary item. One of my friends gets the thumbs dinner every time we go, so I assume that's good.

I'm curious about two places while we are on the subject of restaurants here.

Does anyone have personal experience with Whiskey's, The Pour House, and Dillions? Both on Boylston within the area. I've been eyeing them as possibilities for a supper one night. Taste-wise, price-wise, and diversity-in-food-wise. I know they are bar places, but a lot of bars are known for their food.

No idea. We didn't know about it, so it was a surprise for us too. XD

As for the food at Uno's (I know, I'm late on this), I like it. I love deep dish pizza though!

If anyone has any ideas for another venue, let us know so we can plan for next year. We don't live in the area, so we don't know what's good and what's not.

I don't like Uno's Deep Dish Pizza. I tried it once, and I came to the conclusion I'd stick with NY Style and Flatbread style.


As for other venues, my friends and I are looking for a place for our Sunday eat-out, and this is my list if you are all interested for ideas. I don't think all would suit a big group, yet I have been only to Uno, so I couldn't say.

Giacomo, Cheers, and Dick's are all off site. (Dicks wouldn't be a good place for the AMV meet up anyways.)
Atlantic Fish Company is a bit pricey. That's our concern, so probably not good of a choice.
Dillon's is probably too small.
You guys have been to the Cheesecake Factory and Uno many times before.

FiRE + iCE, The Pour House, Max Brenner, and Legal Seafood maybe? They are all local, but I have yet to try any.

I didn't add Whiskey's to our list, but that might be a good place. I know they are decent on price with a variety.

My thing is, I haven't been to many, so I don't know capacity, food quality, and how it would work out, but those are a few places to check into. I want to say FiRE and iCE might be your best bet for a change up. There's one by the Trinity Church.

I would also strongly recommend Kings. They have a great lounge area and have a full menu. (Also Bowling, Pool and a very cool bar.

They are great people and have grown to embrace AB and our Staff.

And i can neither confirm or deny if AB is working with them this year *wink*
