Quick Question About the Rules/Guidelines

Post by Luscia »

I was just wondering if it is okay to use footage from shounen ai series like Gravitation for the contest. Yeah, it might seem dumb or silly that I ask that question, but I only do so because for the HMV contest it mentions using yaoi and yuri and since yaoi and shounen ai get lumped in together I got confused.

if it not gratitiously violent, sexually explicit, or otherwise tasteless you should send it to the normal contest. If it has any of those three to hentai it goes.

Kiarrens submitted a Gravitation AMV a few years ago if I remember correctly.

Also IIRC, other shounen-ai anime (or suggested) that have been used for the AMV contest I have seen have been No. 6 and Junjo Romantica. Hell in.... I think in 2006, Bashar turned Azumanga Daioh into a girls love-fest.

Considering one of the Drama videos this year looked like a tragic lesbian love story (really beautiful btw to whoever made it), I'd say shounen-ai should be accepted as well.

And Adam actually said he doesn't want gore/guro stuff in the HMVs either.

That said, we've run horror and gore blocks at AAC in the past, if there's a big call for them, I'm sure drew might be up for putting something together for next year's AB.
