So now that the deadline has passed I thought it was time to make that thread where everyone talks about waiting to hear what gets in.

No one else made it yet so I guess I'll do it this time?

So what did everyone submit this year?

Does anyone know when prescreening will be? Something Bashar said in the other thread got me questioning if it was already being done THIS weekend, but that seems too soon to me.

It's been going on all afternoon / evening. They should be finishing up soon. But what do I know? I've only been getting texted updates from 3 people all day. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As to the OP question: Decided to do something I'm familiar with (Comedy) and something I have never set out to do (Drama). Really happy with both of them.

Wow so that's a real quick turnover from the deadline. I'm actually busy with other stuff this weekend so I won't just be sitting around being worried the whole time but it's nice to know we'll find out soon. =)

I submitted in Romance. I wanted to try my hand at a comedy video but didn't have the time or inspiration to go through with it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed since statistically that's been my most successful category.

I took a chance on an Action vid this year, and also submitted a Comedy video. From what I hear, Action was a big category this year! Good luck everybody! :D

I'm also eager to hear about the submissions numbers. Rumor has it there were 156 entries?

I chuckled a bit. I guess the comeback of Fall Out Boy affected the AMV world too. It's good music to listen to on repeat at the very least! I didn't even think of Attack on Titan, but I suppose it should have been expected. The amount of new anime that are actually good nowadays is unfortunately small so there's less variety on that front.

Meanwhile, I'm anxiously twiddling my thumbs.

You know, I honestly haven't been watching anything new myself in a good year or two myself. Nothing has caught me.... so honestly, one of my videos (romance) is actually using a pretty old anime. I was actually just talking with a friend that I need to pick up on more.

These are usually the thoughts that will enter my mind when I don't get in.

1. Must try harder next time.
2. They didn't understand my video.
3. I was too good for them anyway.
4. I really need to consider the audience when I create my videos.
