New! Dedicated Cosplay Gathering Room

Hello Anime Boston Cosplayers,
Anime Boston is going to have a room dedicated to Cosplay Gatherings and Group Photoshoots this year. So you don't have to worry about gathering outside or in a crowded hallway for your cosplay meetup.

The room will be the Fenway Ballroom in the Hilton Hotel.
Hours of operation:
Friday 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Saturday 12:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Sunday 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

The official schedule is here , so you can see what time the room is available and what groups will be meeting there.
Time slots here, unlike in the Main Gathering list, are first come first serve, one group per time slot. Slots are a half an hour and groups MAY request two consecutive slots (one hour) for really big groups, but no longer than that.

Please post in this thread, and I will add your gathering to the Master Document. You may also post your gathering in the Official Photoshoot/Gathering Master Thread, and put the location as the Hilton Fenway room.
Be aware that there is a room cap of 300 people, so if your gathering exceeds that capacity, you may be asked to have some people wait outside the room.

Reminder: Anime Boston staff does not organize the gatherings at all. We are just relaying information from you and placing it onto the schedule.

Please try to get as finalized a listing as you can before posting since times are limited. And keep gatherings organized so another group isn't kept waiting for their time slot after you.

We should have a printed version available for everyone at the convention in front of the room.

Can I please reserve the room for Fire Emblem? If at all possible, Saturday at 1 pm for a full hour would be great! I'm expecting a huge gathering, and not clogging a hall would be excellent.

Can I reserve the room on Friday at 1 PM for the When They Cry photoshoot? We're a really small group, currently four or five people, so you can probably double-book someone else alongside us.

I'm glad that people are starting to learn about the Cosplay Gathering room, unfortunately in the first wave of enthusiastic sign-ups, some requests have overlapped.

@ LawlietShinigami, Saturday 3pm was already taken, please plan another time or location for your Final Fantasy group.

@ Rune_Star333, Sunday 10:30am was already taken, please plan another time or location for your Danganronpa group.

Just for clarification, it's not When They Cry as in Higurashi specifically, it's as a catch-all for that and Umineko. (Actually thus far all four-or-five of us going are cosplaying Umineko, but I like to keep it open to the whole franchise just on the off chance.) If any random Umineko cosplayers who don't follow the forums happen to see the paper schedule (I can dream), I wouldn't want them to think they're excluded.

This is like one of the best ideas I've heard for the con. This helps a lot, I mean I'm curious to see how indoor lighting will affect the photos but this is great.

I would like to reserve the room from 9:00-10:00 pm on Saturday for a Haikyuu photoshoot. I am aware that there is already a gathering scheduled for Haikyuu that day, however I am worried that the half an hour allotted to it will not be long enough and and the space may have difficulty holding us.

How the lighting effect the picture depends on the photographer. Cell phones may have problems.

This would have been an extremely awesome thing years ago. Now, it is just awesome.
Why? Because it means that many will have to choose between going to photoshoot or staying inside the Hynes, due to not wanting to use many many precious minutes trying to get back into the Hynes through security. Especially if they are hosting a panel or are in one of the shows.
Last year, I don't recall there NOT being a line pretty much any time of the day from the Prudential side. Boylston St entrance was better.
