manga speechbubble cutout sign?

You don't need to be in costume to post in this cosplay forum... but sometimes it helps.

manga speechbubble cutout sign?

Post by kidcore » Wed Feb 22, 2017 2:32 pm

hi all.

i'm planning on cosplaying a super obscure character this year, which is going to be mistaken for miku a lot. since my costume is literally in one page of the entire manga series, i was thinking i could make a cutout sign of her speechbubble, and do the pose.

however i read somewhere that signs aren't allowed. i just want to ask if this would be okay? i think it would really help with my costume and not get into awkward convos lol

here is the page in question.

i don't plan on making it so big.

thanks!!

Hi Kidcore, signs are indeed prohibited, "The only exception will be for cosplays where it can be proven that the character has a sign."
The following frequently asked question could help: http://animeboston.com/cosplay/cosplay_faq/#20
While I cannot approve your prop, bringing that image to con might be helpful to show to staff/security that it's a canonical sign, much like Phoenix Wright's OBJECTION.
