[bigger]The Chibi Project - LIVE![/bigger]

[color:red]Friday at 9pm in Room 309

For the sixth year in a row, Anime Boston will be hosting The Chibi Project - LIVE!

You've seen us soak Chibi Moon in juice, cut Pikachu in half with a circular saw, kick off the "Will it blend?" phenomenon by putting Megaman in a blender, saw the world premiere of our experiments on sailor scouts with a fresnel lens and a potato cannon, and witnessed torture to Tuxedo Mask with a drill and wire brush.

What will you see at Anime Boston 2008? We're not telling, but I'm pretty sure we'll need to bring some drop cloths this year. }:|

You can rely on the insane scientists behind The Chibi Project to entertain you with the same fascinating experiments we have been conducting since 1999. We're not saying we were the inspiration for Mythbusters and Smash Lab...but we were breaking things first. :)

The Chibi Project's panel at Anime Boston 2008 will be filmed live to tape and be posted as an episode of The Chibi Project Podcast. If you haven't seen the podcast yet, check it out today! It's free and you don't need an iPod to watch it. (In the latest episode, we use a chainsaw!)

Come and meet members of our team, re-live some of our previous experiments, be the first to see a brand new experiment, and be a part of the podcast!

Oh, quick question:

Just how many Sailor Senshi dolls do you guys have?
Everytime one gets blown up or chopped in half, do you just go out and buy some replacements at Wallmart?

Someone was kind enough to donate a huge box of Sailor Moon toys. We've still got more leftover.

We haven't actually bought a new toy since Megaman. Everything you've seen after that has been donated.

Chibi herself hasn't been used much lately (no sense to subjecting her to anything short of spectacular), but yes, all of those are the same.

We're not really hurting for toys at this point...thus the wholesale destruction with the Fresnel lens....

...not that I'd turn down more donations. At AB2007, someone donated a Sakura clow wand. That prompted Jekka to make a Cardcaptor Sakura costume in order to smash it. (Refer to the podcast for video footage of the fun!)

No, we're always in a panel room. We're not quite popular enough for Main Events...yet. Maybe if everyone can get a few friends to subscribe to the podcast then in a few years that could change. ;)

I actually just found a piece of this in my sewing basket. I was about 3 rows back and was going to the masq after so had the kit with me. It took me a minute to figure out what it was. At first I thought it was some weird sewing machine part that I'd forgotten about.

I still say that you guys should have a large tarp for the people in the first few rows to hold, for their own safety.

Unfortunately, no. It's hard to find a date that will work for all the people that need to be involved in that one, but I'm determined to have it happen by this summer.

However, as I'm sure you've seen in the podcast, we've been doing some other cool stuff too. I mean, it's not every day that you can get permission to drop things from the top of Maine's tallest amusement park ride. :) (Coincidentally, that's also the last time that I was out of the house before 7am.)

LOL-- I WILL make it a point to be involved in this. Name your date.
Unfortunate thing is that it's seriously been a LONG TIME since I've been out on the shooting range. I can assure you my arm just ain't gonna be in top form without a full day of re-training prior to shooting. XD
Muscle-memory. It all comes back eventually.

And, FWIW, I also vote that Chibi Project deserves to be in Main Events.

DO invite Ms Grant. She can supply the proper screams as Hello Kitty is tortured by the Chibi Project Team.

Of course, then you guys might have to run from an angry Raven.

Whats torture without screaming? It'll just add to the atmosphere if she faints from the horrors.
Of course if Hynes Security decides to investigate where the screams came from and see the Chibi Project Panel with their usual assortment of tools, it might not go well.

I wanted to let everyone know that the schedule they will receive at the convention is incorrect. (I've been told it already went to print and it's too late to make changes.)

I have been assured that despite what your schedule may say, The Chibi Project WILL be happening at 9pm on Friday evening in Room 309.

...and if you're at Anime Unscripted, we'll remind everyone there. ;)

Looking at sched on site...
Anime Unscripted, then go to Chibi Project, then go to 18+ADG.

UH-OH!
Chibi Project overlaps the 18+ADG.
As long as they don't lock the doors, it will be ok. If they do lock the doors, I'll just ask my friend to use the C4. ^_-

Friend of mine is coming to his first AB, and I wanted him to be able to experience the Chibi Project and the 18+ADG.

I think this year's experiment is something someone suggested last year. My memory's fuzzy on that (and I can't find the list of suggestions on my desk) so I'm not sure. As for what it is, you'll find out soon enough. }:|

I was so busy with the masquerade skit and everything I totally missed this panel and as such, completely missed seeing Pat and Jekka. This was sad because that means during their performance there was no one yelling Jekka's name like some crazed parrot like creature.

Hope it went well!

And to PatrickD and Jekka: Thank you for making my first experience with the Chibi Project an amazingly fun one... and for giving me the number to the Chibi Project's voicemail! >=) Apparently the message I left you guys the next day was special enough to land in the podcast during the credits. XD (You guys have no idea how excited I got when I realized that it was on there). haha Actually, the reaction was delayed by 10 seconds after listening to it, and then thinking, "waaaait a second..."

Boy, did it make me feel special. :P

I loved it! I brought three friends with me, only one of those friends knew anything about the Chibi Project besides me. We decided to go to the panel as a time killer before the concert (and I wanted them to go). They had a great time! We all loved the experiment, and I've never seen my friends laugh so hard. I was so mad about the podcast though. I wanted to download it last night, but my internet wasn't working. HOW WILL I SURVIVE WITHOUT THE NEW CHIBI PROJECT???

They loved it, but one of them didnt get why everyone was laughing about the word 'caulk' untill halfway through. (Ahh, the innocent.)

So now that its been a few weeks, how did Sailor Moon end up looking? Did the tar and feathers stay on?

Most likely yes. *smirks* caulk stars out soft, but hardens up.

So, the feathers and caulk should still be sticking rather nicely.
