IMPORTANT: When booking a room at the con hotel, make sure you say I'm with Connecticon or else they will say the hotel is sold out. Once you say that you are with them, they will look at the block that is reserved for the con itself and not the rest of the hotel which is indeed sold out. I found this out tonight! It is 145/night for any room at the con rate.

My aunt lives in Newington, approximately 10-15 minute drive from Hartford so I can stay with her and save some serious coin.
