Hey everyone, I'm new as you can tell! Me and a friend of mine are really into the anime Yuri on ice right now, even though there's only one episode out. Let me cut to the chase, basically we want to throw a meet together, at anyone's convience. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, whatever you guys prefer. Conment below if you have suggestions!! I look forward to seeing your replies.

Yes! I'm planning on being Victor on Sunday and one of my friends is planning on being either Yuri, so I would definitely love to be part of a meet-up!

I am actually planning on attending as Viktor (both versions) and Yurio. A few friends are trying to rally me into doing Yuuri as well. Apparently, they just want me to totally and utterly give up on my life. So, I will be available any of the days to my knowledge (so far).

Um...the Hynes doesn't allow wheels of any kind so...

Also, in all honesty, with how popular Yuri!!! On Ice is bound to be, a photoshoot every day would probably not be a bad idea. I plan on entering cosplay events and depending on if I get selected for any of them will depend on when I cosplay Plisetsky.
If we have a shoot everyday, I'm more likely to be able to make one.

Edit: I think there's one being organized for Saturday already, but I'm not sure and will look into it further.

Yeah a meet up every day is a very good idea. i've been part of meet ups for huge fandoms, like Love Live!, and they always have multiple days because not everyone can go to a meet up on one day when they have 4 other meet ups going on at the same time for smaller shows.

This is going to be so much fun! I feel like we should probably start planning this meet up really soon? Like it's going to be pretty big so you can never start planning too early, in my experience.

I agree. I'd help organize and wouldn't mind helping to do so/run one, but I plan on applying for 3 different cosplay events and if I get accepted into them depends on when I wear what. One of the things I plan on applying for, I plan on applying as Yurio, so...I cannot make any real commitment yet and won't be able to until last minute since they usually only give you a few weeks notice if you're lucky.
I will say though that I will likely wear Yurio Saturday regardless since I think that's the day my group will be doing it.

My friend, being the person she is, got me into Yuri on Ice and now I'm cosplaying Yuri Katsuki Eros version. Probably going to happen on Saturday or Friday. I'm hoping to find a Victor and Yurio, but idk if I'll find one. Haha. Anyways~ I can't wait!

You can absolutely join in! I know the feeling of worrying if a cosplay is good enough. Just gotta remember that it's all about having fun over anything else! Meetups like these are just for good times, funny photos and bonding over some cute ice boys.

Cosplay, to me at least, is just to have a blast. Don't feel self conscious. I just have to mention that the picture on your profile here looks like a wicked awesome Pokemon cosplay! Have more faith in yourself! Plus, the more you cosplay the more you grow and become better at it. You are always welcome to join the party, and I hope you do!

uggggh i wish i could join you guys because i've been wanting to cosplay as yuri (glasses and tracksuit and all) ever since i got into the anime. but unfortunately, lack of money gets in the way once again.

AB tends to not like stuff like that, unfortunately, especially if we have the shoot in a location where it can be disruptive to panels.
Trust me, as a panelist, stuff like that is very distracting.

Shoot I didn't think about that! When I said blast, I didn't mean literally blast it, but like I can definitely see where playing music is an issue. Thanks for reminding me of that!

I honestly don't see an issue with it being at a respectable volume. If they still say something, we turn it off. No biggie. -shrug-

Hey hey! Since Anime Boston is now upon us I was wondering how many people were doing Yuri!!! on Ice for this con and if there was any ideas to do a photo shoot. It would be really nice and I'd love to see a bunch of people dressed as the lovable skaters! I know that my friend and I are dressing up as Viktor and Yuri's duet outfit on Saturday!

this is going to be my first year at Anime Boston, and I'm doing a group cosplay with two friends. I'm going to be Yuuri, and my two friends are going as Viktor and Yuri. is the Meetup on Saturday the photoshoot? Because in the unofficial facebook group for Anime Boston there's a Yuri On Ice Meetup event at 10 am that day. I haven't been to an anime convention where I cosplayed in such a long time that I'm not sure if the meetup and photoshoot are the same thing.

If there is a photoshoot I totally want to go, and someone should add it to the AB event page so people in the facebook group can know about it too.

Yes, Meet ups and Photoshoots are generally the same thing. The facebook event needs to put more details up about what's going on (also an event picture).

I'm happy that your first experience with a con is Anime Boston! It's a very good first convention!

So you can't change the privacy settings for an event once it's been created. If you want to make it public, you have to make a new event.
