Anime Boston

So since the theme is retro, I was wondering what retro/old school cosplays everyone was planning.
I'm planning to bring back Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing once again as well Miaka Yuki from Fushigi Yugi as my retro cosplays. What about everyone else?

I'm thinking of crossplaying Inuyasha. Also thought about bringing back Shampoo from Ranma 1/2. Still on the fence about that one.

This thread is kind of broad in comparison to what is usually posted here, haha. My sister and I are thinking about doing Sailor Moon and InuYasha characters.

Well, yeah, but it's meant to just see what retro cosplays people are bringing as opposed to a specific fandom. Some of the retro cosplays will probably not have their own threads, like my Fushigi Yugi cosplay.

I'm potentially bringing back my Lucy Van Pelt cosplay

I plan on bringing a Sub-Zero cosplay to AB17. I'll also be returning as Solidus Snake, the character I made my cosplay debut as at AB16.

It's not anime but it is retro - I'm doing Columbia from the original Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Now that I've moved up to the nyc area Anime Boston is a realistic possibility.

I'll probably revive one or both of these two if I can find all the pieces of them in my house.

I'm thinking of getting a Mario costume modeled after the original Super Mario Bros NES game

My friend and I are planning to go as genderbent Vegeta and Nappa. We have other cosplays planned for the weekend but those are the only ones that are "retro" I guess. Super excited to see all of your guys costumes! Love Sailor Moon and Inuyasha!

I'm hoping to be Rei Hino (Sailor Moon) in her school uniform along with Phobos and Deimos puppets. It all sort of depends on my financial situation at the time. I will be bringing Ryo-ohki (Tenchi Muyo) back. Need to spiff her up a bit, but hopefully my friend will be bringing her Sasami as well.

What I want to do, and what can realistically happen, are verrrrrry different things.

I'll probably wind up bringing Sango (Inuyasha) again, as I have for the past...three? years or so - one of my friends made it for me, and it's a mainstay for me at this point. Maybe this will finally be the year of Hiraikotsu? We'll see.

I'm also really interested in Ukyo Kuonji (Ranma 1/2), battle outfit WITH the gigantic spatula. It seems like a fun idea, and maybe I can convince a friend to bring back her Shampoo costume once more.

On the big accomplishment list, Ryoko (Tenchi Muyo), probably her black/teal outfit with the red belt from I think Tenchi in Tokyo.

Suicide plans involve Legend of Dragoon. 99.9% unlikely.

I'm bringing back Motoko Kusanagi from the '95 version! That, and Sailor Moon is a possibility... along with Jaibo from Litchi Hikari Club.

If my financial situation shapes up, then I'm trying to bring Piccolo from Dragonball Z!

I was gonna do a couple cosplay with my boyfriend, he was gonna be Ash's Butterfree (yellow scarf included) and I was gonna go with him as the Pink Butterfree (episode 21, Bye-Bye Butterfree). My boyfriend isn't going but I still plan on being the Pink Butterfree!

I plan on doing retro Spider-Man and Captain Harlock, with a possibility of doing an improved version of my Vampire Hunter D

For sure planning on Yoko Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho.

I am also planning on one or two others depending on what my friends are cosplaying. Either Kikyo or Sesshoumaru from Inu-Yasha, Nuriko from Fushigi Yuugi, Shuichi from Gravitation, or Fiore from the Sailor Moon movie.

Does Ouran count as retro? Haha, but I do have a few things planned that I want to keep on the downlow until the con gets closer for this theme, personally I'd say it has to be my favorite and I can't wait to see cosplays from old school shows. 8D

i'm going as snorlax and a jedi, and I was thinking of doing an cross over of an jedi snorlax

I'm planning on having Botan from Yu Yu Hakusho, Sakura Kinomoto, Minako Aino, and maybe bring Sakura Shinguji back or something completely different as my retro cosplays.

Last year I did Spike and Kouta. This year I want to improve upon my Spike, as well as crossplay Haruko Haruhara from FLCL.

As someone who's been into anime and manga for over fifteen years, I'm loving seeing all these retro cosplans! I might be bringing a Sailor Saturn cosplay, as well as (and I'm not entirely sure if this 100% counts as retro, but) my Princess Tomoyo cosplay from Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles. Can't wait to see everyone there!

I'm not sure, but I'm kind of thinking of doing Subaru from Tokyo Babylon or maybe Kurapica from HunterxHunter

If all goes to plan, I should be cosplaying as Dios from Revolutionary Girl Utena. I know someone who is going as Anthy, as well.

I love the retro theme so I'm going back to one of my old favs: Yu Yu Hakusho. I'll be going as announcer girl Koto!

I think this makes my 7th cosplay from that series.

I'm planning on debuting Sango from InuYasha with a group of InuYasha cosplayers!

I might also bring back Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho. I haven't done that one in a few years and I need to fix my wig.

I'm planning on being a NES controller for one day, so lol.

The only retro cosplay I'm bringing this year is gonna be Regina from Dino Crisis (1999) and I might have a big ol dinosaur with me but we'll see!

I'll be Quatre from Gundam Wing on Saturday! Though cosplaying something from the 90s feels more like Throwback Thursday than Retro to me...

So it's not anime but my boyfriend and me are going to be wearing Sunday Captain N and Princess Zana from the Captain N. Cartoon.

Hell we even got the power glove that I will be carrying around like some child on some kind of light up stand.

Thinking my megaman helmet display will work best for it just need a usb pack to keep the lights on.

I'm gonna cosplay Kamen Rider Amazon from That 70s Show(a).
