Help setting up an anime club in Rhode Island

If you want to attend anime viewings in Rhode Island your only option is to attend Brown showings. The Old Presendent Graduated and the people that took over are....well I wouldn't want to voice my opinion on the new people but they did something very underhanded to me.

I want to start up a new Anime Society here in Rhode Island to counter act the snobs at brown. If anybody in Rhode island is interested let me know. I'll be checking here every few days.

I'm pretty much lost, I tried to set up something at RISD and that fell through. The girl that co runs Brown's anime club HATES ME (and I hate her back)
So basically I need a Venue and they will come and to get the word out.

Unless I'm too drunk to remember, I believe Brown University has a club. They are also usually pretty good at letting non-university types participate.

URI had one, but from what I understand it got shut down because the school flipped about copyright laws for a "public viewing" of the films. I didn't go there but I offered my whole library to the club through friends and the school flipped even MORE because I wasn't a student, and that they weren't acquiring the tapes/DVDs through a legitimate source. Lol.

But yeah, Brown has a club. But all in all, RI is too small and people in this state hate leaving the comfort of their own homes let alone drive anywhere more than 10 mins away from their house to do anything. (I'm not a native, so I can say that, hah!)

im only 13....i REALLY think RI needs DECENT anime groups!
ones for all ages,
like ones for teens high school-middle school,
and seperates for college+

There is a RIC Otaku Club... It got started last semester but we're still trying to get it off the ground with a little bit of success. ADV sends us some stuff.

I went to the RISD anime club for a meeting or two (I had a friend who went there). That was maybe two years ago?

Gah,I'm an EP-er and you're right!
My local library's anime club has only FIVE active members,most of the rest are graduating high school,so they won't be allowed back since it's for "teens".

And they one guy I've ever liked who likes anime too is one of the graduaters(I think...He can't come anymore because of his work schedule)...

There's an active anime club at the CCRI Knight Campus. We have meetings every Monday.

They're pretty fun if anyone wants to come

PC has an anime club, but I'm a graduate student so I can't really join.

Anyway, any independent anime club would be nice for RI, I could certainly use exposure to something new.
