Question about Formal Dance tickets

So during registration, there were two different choices for the Formal Dance ticket, one that said "5pm - 9pm", and another that said "7pm - 9pm". Even though I chose "5pm - 9pm", the ticket I received said "5pm - 7pm".
When I went to the formal dance though....there didn't appear to be anything relating to those two separate times. It was just one long event, not two 2hr segments like the ticket sales seemed to imply.
Was this just a mistake or...? Just a bit confused as to why two different tickets were sold, when that didn't seem to matter.
