How strange would it be if I left the Masquerade after the Asaka performance?

Post by Kamica »

On the schedule, Asaka is listed as being the "opening act". Would be interested in seeing her performance. But I feel like I would lose interest in the Masquerade rather quickly. Would I be the only one leaving the venue early?

No, in my experience with these sorts of “opening musical acts” at masquerades (this is becoming a trend at cons lately), there’s definitely always a good number of people there for the musical guest only. You will not be the only one leaving early into or even before the actual masquerade.

You are free to leave any event at any point, for any reason. We just ask that you try your best to be considerate of your fellow attendees and not block their view of the event for too long.

If Asaka is the opening act doesn't that mean she's first in the masquerade programming ? Why would you leave if there's the whole rest of the masquerade happening afterwards? Unless this concert is happening after all the skits and the amv contest winning videos....

Some people might not be into the Masquerade but just want to see the musical guest, not sure what’s so confusing about that to be honest....

I'm actually the opposite. I probably won't be going to the auditorium until after the concert to see the Masquerade.

*WHILE I AM STAFF I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS SCHEDULE*

If history serves as a guide (and it generally does!) Any musical performances are generally in the "Half time" segment of the Masquerade. These generally happen before the AMV winners are announced.

Again I am not privy to how this will work this year, but that is how it has been in past years.

I will speak to our programming team and ask them to make a statement.

If we could get that information clarified, that would be fantastic.

It's also worth noting (as it's been said before), your ticket gets you into the line. It doesn't guarantee you a seat any time you want to come in. After the ticketed people get seated, those without tickets are seated. If there's no more seats left, and you show up to the doors an hour after start, your ticket won't help you.

Hi There!

The Asaka performance will be the opening act to this year's Masquerade. I don't expect there to be much of a break between Asaka and the rest of the Masquerade. As Chris mentioned above, if you do leave please just be courteous to your fellow attendees as you exit.

The Masquerade lineup is scheduled to be as follows:
MC introduction
ASAKA concert
Craftsmanship Fashion Show
Exhibition skits

I hope this helps!
