A question about badge IDs

Hello, this question is directed at staff: on our confirmation emails, it says that you need a badge ID or barcode along with a state ID to get your con badge. It does not mention this in the registration faq.
Which one is more accurate/correct?

All you need is a photo ID. The barcode included in your confirmation email lets you use the Express Pass station that will scan the barcode and print your badge (a staff member there will check your photo ID), but that is optional. Without the barcode/email you will still be able to get your badge at a regular station with your photo ID.
