Place to leave pepper spray?

Is there a place that we can leave a can of pepper spray to pick back up when we leave the con?
We're taking the subway past 11 pm and we really don't want to risk the chance of getting mugged.

I've never had that much of a problem on the T—Boston is much safer than it was in the 1980s (compare with Combat Zone, Boston).

The only place I can think of is the Sheraton's coat check. However, I'm not sure if they would allow it, what their opening hours are, or if they allow non-customers to use it, so you would probably have to contact them to confirm it would work for you.

If not the Sheraton, then perhaps another nearby hotel has a coat check that would work. (The Hynes coat check is inside security, so it won't work.)

I travel the T many times at night and never had an issue. Then again, it elreally depends where you are going.
