So i am hoping to both get a table and bring my service dog this year to anime boston 2017. I was there for 2016 and noticed it was ridiculously packed to the point someone actually stepped on me and destroyed my boot. I have never seen the con so packed and this makes me nervous.
Maple, my service dog, is a cardigan welsh corgi. She is fully trained to help me with anxiety. I get a lot of thst at cons because security is a pain every year. I wont get into that. My main concern is this: should I keep her at the table and only take her outside or is it okay to have her walking around with me? I worry someone may step on her paws!
Sorry if this is in the wrong section, admins/moderators. I've never had to ask a question here but I thought general questions seemed like a good thread x-x

I was not very specific with the table, I apologise. An art table to sell prints in artist's alley.

Cool. I'm not really the one to answer the question you'd asked, unfortunately, but I'll bug our Operations team about it.

Re: Service dog: corgi at AB 2017?
Hi there!
I'm sorry about what happened to you and your boot last year. You're welcome to have your service dog walk around with you.
Unfortunately, I don't anticipate much will change in terms of the volume of people at the convention. Once we get closer to AB weekend, we should have a more finalized floor plan. If you would like to e-mail me at ops@animeboston.com once we're about a month or two away, I should be able to help advise you on crowded areas to avoid, and paths that might be less crowded.
If there's anything I can do outside of that to help, please let me know.

Re: Service dog: corgi at AB 2017?
might i suggest you get a disabled sticker? it helped me out so much and everyone was super friendly; and your treated like a VIP (you even get to use the super secret disabled location) and every staff you talk to is super friendly
Anime Boston usually is my "me" time convention (i know that sounds bad/stupid/dumb what have you) but it makes all the difference in the world if you don't bring anyone you know that can cause you discomfert. usually that's a rule for me for most things (i hate people: odd i know) but hey it really does help....
point: 1) get disabled sticker on the back of badge (don't worry they don't see a disabled id...i have one and they didn't ask for one, when i asked for it they just gave it to me, i flashed it and they said they didn't need it)
2) if you can go alone and avoid people at all cost (unless they're part of your fandom)
3) once you get disabled pass use super secret enterence to con....
i hope i helped a little ^^

Please don't answer for staff, especially as staff have already chimed in. As we revisit logistics for 2017, some of these points that existed for 2016 may or may not change.
We appreciate the desire to help, but would like to avoid any confusion.
